I would just like to thank everyone that participated in my first contest. I hope you all had fun and you did turn out some nice work.
I would also like to acknowledge kilgore for his very interesting River of Fire (http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Contests;action=display;num=11025850 70). It came very close to winning several of the categories.
Job well done all who participated, and congrats to all the winners. The only thing that bugs me is that I thought of a great festival the day after the contest closed; I'm leaning towards writing it up anyway, just so I can get some feedback.

Congrats to everyone! And thanks to everyone who voted for either of my entries ;D
I personally like the Day of Forgiveness more, but I really enjoyed writing them both. However, my favorite of all the entries was Gamebird's Day of the Dragon. Awesome work by everyone, though!

I thank everone who voted for me, very much so. I had a lot of fun writing them up (and would have had more written on each if not for computer problems, oh well).

Do we get schmancy-cool sub-names now? Like instead of "Barbarian in the Playground", do I get "Winner of the Best Campaign Themed Festival Contest" for a month or two?

The proper entities have been informed. When it will come to pass, I cannot say.

Cool! 'Cause I really admired Scorpina's little "Winner of the Spell Themed..." sub-name. I thought to myself, 'Wow, she must be really cool.' I'm so ego-driven I'd like to imagine other people looking at MY sub-name and thinking the same thing! ;)

***** Wow, I won something! Thanks to all those who voted, for or not for me. :) Without votes we wouldn't have a contest.
There were great entries all around so I feel pretty good. Thanks again all.

Watch out Gamebird. I've had some past with special titles and i didn't like all of it. E.g. in a forum that I managed 2000 posts in 3 months surpassing anyone else both in post volume and in post meaning I was granted the title "The Rediculous Junk-Maker"...

So when do the snazzy little sub names get put in?

***** Kind of curious myself. :)

Alright. I'm getting to work on my festival. It will be up within the next couple of days. This is just for feedback purposes, as a kind of "training excersise" for myself so that I get the hang of the contest idea in time for the magic item contest. :D

***** Just out of curiosity, did the winners ever get rewarded?

Yeah, umm . . . looks like that didn't happen. I think life surprised the Giant, sapped him, and emptied his pockets so he never got around to it.
I did remind him about it a few times.

OK, OK, stop crying. The custom titles are up. I'll let them stick around for a while, too.

Just a thought, but maybe all you winners could post a link to your winning entry in your sig line.
That way, we might get people to notice the "a winner is you" subname, see a link to your entry and wander over to the Contests Board.

Hrm, good idea... I'm just having trouble fitting the links into the character limit :P I think I'll just link to this thread...

Thanks for the snazzy title. Now how do I put a link into my sig?
Edit: Never mind, I think I figured it out using Gorbash's Guide to Message Board Codes.
Edit 2: Okay, the above didn't work. How about now?

***** Thanks a bunch..now to see if the sig worked...
***** Brother Glacius
EDIT: Sig seems kind of large..won't shrink down

Somehow you have a font size change coded into the url.
Could you copy/paste the code you put into your signature section for the profile?
It should look exactly like this:
