Virtue's Retribution

There is a church known as the Church of Linens, for long white and crimson silk drapes cascade from the church's entryway and windows. This church, dedicated to Saint Cuthbert, has in recent times set out on an unknown quest. Three years ago they seven seven pilgrims to different artisans and crafts, each bearing a secert order for one time, to be delivered to the church in one year in secrecy. The year passed, and each of the items were delivered to the church. The artisans were paid, and the church doors closed.
They had been closed the past two years. Strange sounds and chanting had been heard echoing out the stainded glass windows, as the brocades of silk fluttered in the breeze. Finally, just a week ago the doors were thrown open. Unaware of the shock displayed by the populace, a woman clad in steel descended the steps, each layer of silk parting for her until she reached the bottom. She bore seven items, each marked with St. Cuthbert's cross. A cudgle, a shield, a suit of plate, a Book, a belt, a cloak, and a ring.

Domesday Book
A strong chain connects the slate grey book to her belt. The cover itself bears the celestial word Domesday and hard edged cross of St. Cuthbert. Its corners are sheathed in silver and a small ruby dots the center of each triangle. The spine looks to be constructed of steel, and hinges connect the cover to the spine, and a cold iron clasp locks the book shut.
This is not a book designed to sit in a library gathering dust.

The Domesday book weighs 4lbs and is 14 by 7 by 3 inches. It has a chain that connects it to any normal belt securely.
3/day any Lawful creature who possesses the book may cast Discern Lies as a 7th level cleric. But the true power of the domesday book lies against the undead, who have broken the basic oath of the cycle of life. Any lawful creature able to turn undead may read aloud from the book while turning and gain a +4 to the turn check. 1/day they may use greater turning, as per the Sun domain special ability.

The book bestows one negative level on any chaotic or evil creature holding it. This negative level persists as long as the book is held and disappears when released. The negative level never results in actual level loss, but it cannot be overcome in any way (including restoration spells) while the book is in the creatures possession.

Retribution

The mace known as Retribution is two and a half feet. It's shaft is steel and its six flanged head is cold iron. A small version Cuthbert's cross stands atop the head, with a ruby glinting in the sunlight.

Retribution is a rod which looks and functions as a +2 Lawful heavy mace. Its magical abilities are as follows

-Twice per day a single undead creature struck by Retribution is affected by Halt Undead as cast by a 5th level Wizard. This effect must be declared before the attack, if the attack misses the use is wasted for the day.
-Twice per day the wielder may attempt to Smite any Chaotic or Evil outsider. The wielder may add their Charisma modifier to the attack roll and their total Cleric or Paladin levels to damage (minimum +5).

The rod bestows one negative level on any chaotic or evil creature wielding it. This negative level persists as long as the rod is held and disappears when released. The negative level never results in actual level loss, but it cannot be overcome in any way (including restoration spells) while the rod is held.

Shield of Judgement

The large traingular shield is shines like polished silver. It is embossed with the cross of Saint Cuthbert, and the rim is lined with holy words of law and protection. The shield radiates a dim white light.

The Shield of Judgement is a +3 Blinding Large shield. It is constructed of cold iron, and its blinding ability only functions against Evil or Chaotic outsiders. Against outsiders which are both Evil and Chaotic the save DC increases to 20. The shield radiates 20 ft of white light.

In the hands of a Paladin, the Shield of Judgement can use a move equivalent action to cast Shield of Faith as cast by 6th level cleric.

The shield bestows one negative level on any chaotic or evil creature wearing it. This negative level persists as long as the shield is worn and disappears when released. The negative level never results in actual level loss, but it cannot be overcome in any way (including restoration spells) while the shield is worn.

Obedience

Strapped around her waist is a thick leather belt, reinforced by vertical metal bars. At the buckle lies the cross of St. Cuthbert, with a blood red ruby setting in the middle.

Obedience is a belt. It grants its wearer a +1 Deflection bonus to AC. This bonus increases to +4 against Chaotic or Evil outsiders and undead.

If the Domesday Book is chained to Obedience, the chain cannot be sundered by mundane or lawful weapons.

The belt bestows one negative level on any chaotic or evil creature wearing it. This negative level persists as long as the belt is worn and disappears when released. The negative level never results in actual level loss, but it cannot be overcome in any way (including restoration spells) while the belt is worn.

Cascade of Silk

Much like the flowing drapes of silk that adorn the church of linens, the cloak is composed of three drapes of silk, two white and one red. They fall as separate pieces, but are connected at the collar. Each length of silk glistens and shimmers in the sun. Clasped at the neck is a cross of Cuthbert, who's ruby shimmers like the silk it binds.

The cascade of silk is a cloak composed of three lengths of silk, two white lengths and a red length between the two. They come to a triangular point at the base of the cloak.
If an evil or chaotic outsider is within fifty feet of the wearer they are affected by Protection from Evil/Chaos. If undead creatures are within fifty feet then the wearer is affected by Protection from Undead (As per protection from Evil, except the effects apply against undead.).
Should a creature have more than one trait described (A Chaotic Evil Undead outsider) then all three spells apply, and their bonuses stack against such creatures, including the deflection modifier.
Example, if a Paladin Fred was attacked by a Babau (demon), the cloak would grant him a +4 deflection modifier to AC, and a +4 resistance bonus to saves, as well as blocking any charm or mind-controlling effects, and stopping summoned creatures from touching him. If it were an undead Babau (:-X ) the bonuses would increase to +6.

If worn by a paladin the cloak radiates a Magic Circle against Evil/Chaos/Undead, rather than normal protection.

The cloak bestows one negative level on any chaotic or evil creature wearing it. This negative level persists as long as the cloak is worn and disappears when released. The negative level never results in actual level loss, but it cannot be overcome in any way (including restoration spells) while the cloak is worn.

Sanctity of Promise

Shining in the sun, the platelmail rests quietly on her body. The plate is extraordinarily simple. Decorationless edges, solid panels and unembellished metal. It stands bare for all to see. Raised in the center of the chest is a simple cross of Cuthbert, made all the more extraordinary by its bare surroundings. Five red gems decorate each point and the center, staring bravely ahead.

The Sanctity of Promise is a +3 Fullplate. 3/day it allows its wearer to detect Evil, Chaos, and Undead. Activating this ability is a full round action. The divination lasts 1d4+4 rounds.
Also the sanctity of promise grants a +4 enhancement modifier to Sense Motive checks.

The armor bestows one negative level on any chaotic or evil creature wearing it. This negative level persists as long as the armor is worn and disappears when released. The negative level never results in actual level loss, but it cannot be overcome in any way (including restoration spells) while the armor is worn.

The Corners

Resting heavily on her finger is the ring known as The Corners. It is builky, uncomfortable, and square. On each side is engraved the Celestial words "Honor, Obedience, Loyalty, Justice." The grey metal seems harsh and heavy, as though the ring were a burden. St. Cuthbert's cross is not displayed boldly, but rather a portion is etched onto each plane. When the ring is laid on its side, the cross can be seen with the finger passing through the center.

The Corners is a cold iron ring weighing 1/2 lb. Once placed on a finger it cannot be removed without a Remove Curse spell. It grants the bearer exceptional power, but with strict requirements. Its powers cease to function and increases its weight to 7 lbs (imposing a -1 to all attacks made with that hand) for one full week if the bearer knowingly breaks a promise or a law of St. Cuthbert.
So long as the bearer follows in obedience to the law they may use the spells Order's Wrath once per day and Dispel Chaos once per week.
If the bearer successfully smites a chaotic or evil outsider, or undead creature, then the ring gains one casting of Dictum, which remains for one week before fading away.

The ring bestows two negative levels on any chaotic or evil creature wearing it. This negative levels persist as long as the ring is worn and disappears when released. The negative levels never result in actual level loss, but cannot be overcome in any way (including restoration spells) while the ring is worn.

I'll get on that caster level and cost stuff in a little bit. I have some Valentine's stuff to do.
