Hey guys, welcome to my newest comc "Meet Amy Rose". It's built - much to my great surprise - a small fanbase already and may hopefully one day grow into something great, so all flaws must be eliminated immediately! :D


This is my only comedy sprite comic - I can be quite funny from time to time apparently - so I decided to give it a shot and see what I can do?

Crit and comments stating what you like would be greatly appreciated!

Well... you only have 14 comics up right now, so it's hard to make anything other than a first impression. And unfortunately, it seems rather shallow. Right now all I see is exaggerated Sonic characters. You have the characters, well, being themselves. That's it. The problem is that your humor is based around exaggerating the characters. But that's only funny if you're not familiar with the characters. Yes, we know Amy is a love crazed psycho with a mallet. We know that Shadow is a dark and edgy badass. We know Tails is just a kid. It's what we're expecting out of them. And if you're expecting them to behave that way, it's not funny. Humor is based a good deal on surprise.

And with only 14 strips, I don't know if you have a plot planned out, or where it's going if you have one. There's no hook to keep me interested as of yet, and you're stuck in a catch-22. If this is all there is, there's nothing to make me want to come back. If there is going to be a gripping story, I don't see any evidence of it yet, and you should have started promoting it AFTER the story starts to kick into gear.

As for the art, there's nothing to complain about. It IS a sprite comic after all, which are notoriously easy to whip together. Not to say a sprite comic can't be good, it's just that the genre in general tends to lend itself to Sturgen's Law (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SturgeonsLaw) more than most.

Overall, it's not BAD, it's just... shallow. Work on it some more, and let me know when you got the story up and running.

Thanks for the well thought out crit, I'll try to improve the comedy of the comic. And the stry hasn't started yet, I'll notify you when I've gotten into the story so I can hear yourviews about it once again. ^_^
