What's the Playground got planned?

I'm heading to a movie with some friends tomorrow(today) afternoon before heading to a party with some different friends.

I was going to have a hot date, but then I got rescheduled for a friday in order to make room for a girl's night out. (Yay for first dates that already don't bode well. :smallsigh:)

I just going to hang out with some friends at a bar/pub or two downtown, and that's probably about it. It's one friend's birthday, so we're sort of obligated to go out anyway, and New Years makes it even better (though the crowds SUCK).

My husband's in bed with a horrible cold and sore throat at the moment, so I suspect we won't be doing much. We do have a guest arriving at 9pm tonight, so I might drag him out to a very nice local bar for a little drinking and dancing.

And I have nothing planned.

In about 24 hours I plan to watch a movie with my bird, but I don't think that's going to happen.

No, I don't literally mean a bird.

I myself have just had a celebratory glass of fine wine with my parents. That is the extent of the celebration...

For one hour and twenty-three minutes away...Happy New Year, everybody!

I start my 4-day weekend from work on New Years Day, though. Might do something interesting then. But I doubt it. :smallfrown:

Was planning to go to family and celebrate with them(as I usually do) but no, no no, dense fog was predicted and we couldn't go. So instead we're going to stay at home.

So I'm at home, playing mah jong(spelling is butchered, sorry) with my brother and parents.

I'm a sad lil' no lifer.

I'll be spending Old Year's Night (as we northerners and the people of Barbados ( :smallconfused: ) know it) with Miss Eggy, good alcohol, and some of my favourite films. The rest of the world can go to Hell.

Absolutely nothing. I don't even understand why this is a holiday. All it really means to me is about a month of dating my checks wrong.

Forgive my bitterness, but I just don't see why some of these holidays are holidays.

Well jeez it starts early for some of you! It's not even noon up here where I am. Psh, "time zones". . .

I'll probably be hanging out at home though, on the computer or something. My family usually just spends it in our house. It just snowed pretty heavily though, so it's not like we could go anywhere anyway!

An excuse to celebrate? I dunno.

Also, I've read something about people putting the years on their checks ahead of time so they don't forget. I know you were just making an off-hand remark, but I figured I'd mention it.

Well, it's not actually driving. Can't get my permit yet. :smallsigh:

It's just three hours spent in a room in the basement of a building, listening to police officers lecture about driving. I think we're covering road rage today. Fun. Although I expect we'll get out early, as I imagine the instructors would rather be somewhere else just as much as we would. :smalltongue:

Well, plans so far are to go to the next city, meet a few friends/mates in a bar/pub and see what the consumption of alcoholic beverages might lead to.:smallamused:

Secondary objectives involve not hitting on Mrs. Floor again, and of course trying to survive the only night(s) a year drunk people are granted access to explosives...:smallannoyed:

So long, Arokh.

*stumbles back in*

I made an ass of myself while drunk for the very first time. Unfortunately I don't think I got drunk enough because I started to realize how much of an ass I made of myself.

Then I did some dishes and snuck out of the apartment I passed out in. I at least think I know whose apartment it was...

Now I'm back at the friends place where the party was supposed to be... but, y'know, apartment blocks where the residents don't want to all kill one another can get a bit chaotic at times. Especially with college students.
