So... I was reading through Questionable Content (http://www.questionablecontent.com) for the first time and I got to wondering what Rich may do for comic 666... He kinda dodged 616, and I doubt he'll do anything, but would anyone really dodge that chance to make fun of the "D&D is Evil" crowd? (I've run into them... they scare me... but man its easy to sass them!)

Any ideas on what YOU would do for this?

Ignore the numbering. It's just another comic, calm down (http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=060225)

Check the url on your link.

This is only an issue if you believe 666 is the number of the Beast. It's irrelevant in Rich's case, since I'm pretty sure he's either a Jedi Monk or a follower of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Strip 666 should be another "we answer letters from our viewers" strip, where this very question is answered by Sabine and Qarr.

Really? Given his mysterious disease, I coulda sworn he was a cleric of Jushiro Ukitake (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IncurableCoughOfDeath)...

I think issue 666 will end this story arc

May I suggest an unarmed cheddar swordsage instead?

I'm kinda hoping it'll be just another comic, without even the oblique reference that 8-bit used. How long is western culture going to be leery of a number? It's as ridiculous as those buildings that "skip" the 13th floor.

Using irony, it would be a good comic to end the story arc at.:smalltongue: Alchemyprime, I play D&D and I'm not evil at all.

i dont think its going to be anything special on 666, cause he passed comic 100 and comic 400 (or was it 500) without doing anything but joking about how people thought it was going to be something special those times, so maybe the giant will just joke about how people thought it WOULD be special:smallannoyed:

That should DEFINATELY happen. Everyone's favourite demon+devil/devils answering your questions.

And we should have Haley hiding in the corner going "don'tseemedon'tseemedon'tseeme" unti lthe last question: "You do realise that Haley's hiding in the corner, right?" and Haley goes 'Uh Oh." and Sabine and Qarr grin evily.

Our writer has shown little interest in special numbers and so is unlikely to be aiming at one for 666 either. Go back and read the threats about #600.

Now there is the point that the last two books have been 180 and 184 strips, which would be 664 or 668, which makes 666 a serious candidate for last page of the current book, and a likely splash page. But don't be shocked if this is page 670 and 666 is a normal page.

At most, he might make a strip which contains an off-hand joke about how nothing special happened for such a special number, like he did for strip 100 or 600.

Qft, If your on the 14th floor... you know what floor your really on.

I believe they actually go as far as to build an extremely short 13th floor which isn't accessible by public stairs or elevators. In those cases the 14th floor actually is the 14th floor.

Dunno, you want to see if it takes Western culture longer to stop being leery of 666 and 13, or Eastern culture to stop being leery of 6?

The number 666 is nothing special. The same applies with the number 13. 666 is just a multiple of 3 and 13 is a prime number.

Qft, If your on the 14th floor... you know what floor your really on.

Some modern constructions either have an 13th floor (like my mom's work), or if they don't, use the 13th floor as a maintenance floor. So if you're on the 14th floor, you're one the 14th floor.

As for the Op. It's unlikely Rich will do anything for comic 666.

Yes, the Western fascination with the number 666 is just ridiculous. And this is coming from a Christian.
I'm expecting (and hoping) that Rich will do absolutely nothing special for strip 666. But it would be interesting if that strip introduced or reintroduced a minor character who would eventually become a major villain.

I expect no refrences to the number 666 itself, but for it to be something involving Qarr, the only sure devil we know from the strip, whether it be an explanation of his evil plan or something else entirely. But then again, nothing special happened in 111, or 222, or 333, or 444, or 555. So 666 isn't as likely as you might think.
