In an attempt to revive the flagging (or non-existent) interest in the GitP region (http://www.nationstates.net/47436/page=display_region/region=giant_in_the_playground), I remind you all of this fun little nation simulation game.
You set up your own government however you like, and then every day you are presented with a number of issues. You solve these issues through choosing one of the legislative options that are presented. Here's an example:
The Issue

A group of prominent business identities has proposed privatizing Galaind's beaches.
The Debate

1. "Have you been to the beach lately? It's disgusting," says company spokesperson Al Nagasawa. "There's litter, there's teenagers smoking, and there are people enjoying themselves without paying for it. Let the private sector in on this, and Galaind's beaches will be the talk of the region! And a nice little earner, too."

2. "Whoa, whoa, we're privatizing beaches now?" says local campaigner Abraham Silk. "These are public spaces! All Galaind's citizens have a right to enjoy them, not just the well-off. Yes, we should improve the quality of our beaches, but handing them over to the money-grabbers is not the right way to do it. The right way to do it is to boost government spending by increasing taxes."

Over time, the effects of your chosen legislation impact your government. The three main characteristics are civil rights, political rights, and economy, but then there are others as well, such as environment, population size, crime rates, tax rates, and others.

You can choose how many issues you want to receive a day, with 5 being the most. It's a fun little game, and it's quite easy and simplistic. If you enjoy this, there's a second one that's more complex, with war and trade and all that.
