So basically this is a thread for telling the story of the campaing you DM:ed They can be a funny read sometimes. You don't have to have a completed campaing you can just update on a campaing you are currently DM:ing I don't have anything yet, but by monday I will.
Oh and please keep the story in one post because otherwise all coherency is lost as the stories mix into a jumpled heap.
Maybe this thread could be abandoned when it reaches 10 pages or so and create a new one. That's so the stories dont just drown into the amount of stuff put here. (If there is an amount of stuff put here.)
Also feel free to ask for advice for your ongoing campaing:smallsmile:

A group of seafolk found a sunken elvish ship and brought up a few treasures. Aben, a Basiran scholar, purchased one of the treasures, a magnificent copper and steel chest. Inside the chest, he found an Itotian scroll, a Sclavini doll, and a pendant. On the scroll was a map of what Aben believed to be Shieldmeet, so he headed to Shieldmeet and hired a group of explorers and a translator. Lalinlor took posession of the scroll to translate it, and Kazi held onto the doll and pendant for study.

Along the route they were attacked several times. One attack resulted in the death of Cullen, one of the guards, and another attack nearly killed Maksim, one of the wagoners. The party captured a half-elf by the name of 'Jack', who warned the that they were in danger of unleashing a great evil upon the world. They were then trapped in a Dwarven mining town by severe weather, and helped deal with a problem in the mines. Vin and Paul joined the party, however Vin met up with a contact of his in the dwarven town and he split from the party, finding the scene of a brutal human sacrifice. He and his contact met up with some of the cultists and dispatched them.

Meanwhile the rest of the party continued on, leaving 'Jack' trussed up naked in a sack. They encountered Faelivrin, and took her prisoner after realizing she was with Jack's group. She insulted them repeatedly and warned them about how foolish they were being trying to open up the crypt. The party reached the cliffs and found what they believed to be the entrance. Something guided Kazi to a different location, and Flint used his demolition skills to open that area, allowing the party access to the crypt. The party battled their way to a locked door, which they wisely decided to let Paul open with his trusty lockpicks. Inside that room was a bed containing a corpse holding a tome. Feliks tossed the tome to Slowthinker and was immediately set upon by the risen corpse. The corpse became green light and tried to possess Feliks, but the Sclavini doll exploded into blue light and knocked many of the party unconscious.

They chased the light and found other members of their party knocked unconscious. While some members argued over what happened, Jinan and Feliks went to check on the rest of the group. Everyone up on top of the cliff seemed fine. After regrouping, Kae and Feliks realized that Aben had stopped stuttering, and confronted him. Rayner then revealed he had seen a flash of green light near Dima, who immediately started running. Several members of the party gave chase, but he escaped.

Feodor and Lev immediately went to track him down, and were joined by Feliks and Kae. They separated, with Feliks and Kae taking the shore path Dima had traveled and the others trying to cut Dima off. Dima joined another party, and later Feliks and Kae found Feodor's body. The party regrouped.

Ashling, a druid, had been assigned to locate a missing druid, Tirena. She found a group of cultists that had sacrificed Tirena, and they gave chase. She fled, crossing the path of the party, and short work was made of the cultists. Two prisoners were taken to the druids for questioning, and the party got a name. Zoriada.

Whilst the druids were questioning the prisoners, the group returned to the caves in order to finish their exploration. They battled various undead creatures, and found another locked door which Flint promptly blew to smithereens. Inside the chamber was the body of a woman, and she had scrawled a message on the back of the door that Flint blew up. Fortunately, part of the message was recoverable.

The party decided the force possessing Aben was benevolent, and returned to Shieldmeet to translate the tome found on the corpse. They got four locations that the cult had once occupied, and decided to visit the one in Sclavini. In Shieldmeet, they again encountered Dima, who met with them at a tavern and provided them with additional information regarding an artifact that he wanted destroyed. He also introduced them to Sabine. Dima told the party about the Cult of the Void, undead-worshiping maniacs.

Lalinlor asked for and received the party's aid in an attempt to learn more about a disease affecting the poor, so the group descended into the sewers. They found a mad healer returning zombies to a strange sort of diseased life, and rescued his prisoners. Lalinlor adopted the mad healer's son.

The nearer they came to the location, the more they heard about a brutal Amareth captain called Kendall. Kazi and Feliks got married. The party encountered Jerath defending some Sclavini children from wolves, and aided him, earning his oath of fealty in the process. Kazi introduced the group to her parents, the local nobility, who sent soldiers to help the party take Kendall's fortress, LondDaer. Lalinlor left the party and returned to Shieldmeet.

The group decided to take the second entrance the tome had revealed, aided by the guidance of Jerath. The party re-encountered Vin and his cousin, Llyssa. Paul disarmed the traps, and the party encountered Darus. The encounter did not go so well, with Darus being supremely unimpressed with their behavior and bickering, finally stating he was perfectly happy to just kill them all. Ashling managed to calm him down, and he provided some aid in retaking the fort, disabling all the cannons to allow the soldiers to enter.

Quickblades got captured by Amareth reinforcements, but a peaceful solution was accomplished, leading to a treaty between the Amareth and Kazi's parents. Ashling moved the artifact, aided by Quickblades and Darus, and set Darus to watch over it again for a while. The party fractured a bit, due to a disagreement over the best route to take, and split paths. Both groups ended up in the Elvish lands, where Ashling and Jerath discovered the tomb of Resia. They then made it back to Shieldmeet safely.

The party has found several references to something called the Primal, and to the existence of a related cult. They have also found several sigils.

In Shieldmeet, they learned that many murders had been occurring, and the entire city was on edge. The party rescued Rayner's sister, Aletha, an oracle imprisoned in an asylum. She is quite mad. Some folks came looking for Quickblades, one of them stabbing Flint but then holding his blade to await the orders of the Shogun. They also learn that Lalinlor has become a council lord and moved into one of the council houses along with his adopted son.

Kae reported there had been another murder, and the party went to investigate. They encountered a member of the city guard, a dwarf called Vhid. With Vhid, they tracked a blood trail and found the cultists going after Bin. Rescuing Bin came at a high price, as Zoriada killed Kae as the 'price of interference', then managed to escape.

Vhid was initially reluctant to share information, until Flint suggested the party become an official guild. Aben agreed to that idea. Bin mentioned he was performing at the house of a council lord, and the party went there to talk to the lord. Lord Bartel, having lost two he cared about to the cult, agreed to sponsor the party in their investigations. He also charged them with the task of keeping an eye on a halfling woman called Mar'Solla, who is familiar with the cult. Once back at Aben's place, the party began going over the information they had, looking for clues.

They decided, after a night's sleep, to head down into the sewers to find the base Mar'Solla knew. They quickly ran into trouble when Rayner was dropped by arrows from a sniper. The situation rapidly got worse when the yells of the sentry alerted Zoriada. Two fireballs from her dealt serious damage, dropping Abbi, Jaka, and Byrun and injuring several others.

Mar'solla managed to heal Byrun, and Rayner got back to his feet. The party dealt some damage to Zoriada, who fled, as well as fatal damage to a couple cultists. Inside the cult's showroom, the party found a portal that revealed a scribe. While Ashling and Rayner hung back, the rest of the party went through the portal. Rayner and Ashling joined them when Zoriada showed back up in the cult room. The bodies of Abbi and Jaka were left behind. Flint quickly intimidated the scribe, and Sorina entered the room. She was cordial and helpful to the party, providing them with a scroll of sending to warn Aben, as well as a good meal and horses to enable them to get to where they could return to Shieldmeet. An associate of Sorina, Manauia, healed the party members that requested healing. When they had a chance to talk privately, Ashling revealed Sorina was Kazi's cousin, and an assassin. Aben sent a return message stating that they had been attacked, but not by Zoriada, and he would send to get them if they could get themselves to a safe location for a couple hours.

Cross started heading towards his wife's house, and discovered it was on fire. His wife was missing, but a fireproof box with his name on it was left behind. It contained a note from Zoriada and Amanya's severed finger. Hikmat, a friend of Aben's, collected the party and returned them to Shieldmeet. They regrouped, and came to the conclusion there must be a spy in their midst. But who? The party split up to regroup with old friends and report in, and Dima contacted Ashling and Cross.

The party realized they needed information, as well as new guards. An attempt was made to raise Kae, which failed. Three new guards were hired, and a prisoner was captured and questioned. He revealed Zoriada's alternate identity, a lover of Lord Adamo. His attempt to poison himself (and Flint) failed.

The party called Dima in, and shared information. Dima let them now Zoriada was in Tatsuo, and gave Cross a letter revealing Cross's wife was alive and relatively safe. The party decided to enjoy the solstice and the gnome festival. Then, for the space of about a minute, every animal in Shieldmeet seemed to go mad……

This is very long.... and it's not over yet. I've obviously skipped on some of the detail.

The Legacy of Bloodstone
The characters start in Baldur's Gate, (2nd level), tracking down Slave Traders. It is during this that they first meet Gaunt an undead monk of great power. He seems to set in motion a number of terrible events after stealing an ancient item from a ruined temple of Bane. He thrusts the item (a sphere) into the altar of the Church of Kelemvor with a sinister warning.

Many high priests in Baldur's Gate start to be slain by a fiend of some type called the Stalker.

The characters then are summoned by the Dukes of Baldurs Gate because they feel that the characters are part of a prophecy.

Hearken
Beneath a frozen monastery rests the fragment of stone
Revealed it heralds the approach of the doom of man
Before the crown falls from the head of a hero
The whole must be remade into one
Only the eyes of the Child of Hell may find it
Only the hand of the Servant of Death may free it
Only the strength of the Untamed Soul may bear it
Only the blood of the Red Land's Son may heal it
Only the Breath of the Breathless may revive it
Slaughter the reward if the Black Lady wields it
For your time will finish
As mine now comes

It is believed that Altierre (Tiefling) is the Child of Hell, Kerilisaria (Priestess of Kelemvor) is the Servant of Death, Elocin (Wild Elf Barbarian) is the Untamed Soul, Nesser (Wizard of Thay) is the Red Land's Son and Brother Carot (Air Genasi Monk) is the Breathless. They have no knowledge of who the Black Lady is.

It is believed that the Fragment of Stone is part of the Onyx Heart and that the Frozen Monastry is the Monastery of the Yellow Rose on the Glacier of the White Wyrm. The group head off.

On route, the group lose Nesser and Brother Carot. When they get to the Cold Lands, they come across a civil war in Damara. A woman wearing all Black and astride a Black Winged Steed leads the armies of Bloodstone for Baron Arioch Achilleon. They believe that she is the Black Lady. The group manage to get to the Monastery, but not before they are accosted by the fallen Herald of Demogorgan. They find at the Monastery that it has been assaulted by daemonic forces. A sole Paladin remains, but he is insane. He attacks the group who subdue him. Later, Altierre murders him for vengeance. The party subdue Altierre and truss him up, to take him back to civilised areas where he will pay for his crime.

In the monastery, the group find Gaunt again, this time with a figure calling himself The First the progenitor of the prophecy. He says that there is more to the prophecy, and that the lost members are not part of the prophecy. But he says no more. Altierre escapes and flees into the wild, just as a massive army of hobgoblins under the banner of Bloodstone arrive. The group flee, having what they believe to be the fragment of the Onyx Heart.

Back in Damara, the group realise that the armies of Bloodstone are backed up by daemonic forces and undead. The Black Lady bears what is identified as The Wand of Orcus. Heliogablus is beseiged and falls, king Dragonsbane is lost. The group join forces with a Monk of Tyr and his Half-Orc friend and leave the city as it falls. They travel to Impiltur to try and inform the Paladins there that this civil war is more than what it appears.

Fighting their way to Impiltur, they do manage, after much trouble, to get an audience with the Queen. After informing her that the Avatar of Orcus (what they belive the Black Lady to be) leads the armies of Bloodstone, they manage to convince her and her paladins that Impiltur will need to act. Eventually, this amid other things drives the civil conflict into wide-spread war. During the War, the characters fight behind the lines and meet The Silver Dagger Company another adventuring company led by the brave Sir Ettiene a paladin of Tyr.

Eventually, the group find some more parts of the prophecy, whispered words or bloody scrawls. They name their charter 'Prophecies Bitch', thinking that they are being hounded by something they cannot control.

They also discover that what they believe to be the fragment is infact false. Altierre returns with news that those who set out to follow the prophecy and fall are raised as undead abmoninations known as Breathless. Altiere tells the others where the real fragment is, as he found it after fleeing from the group. It is actually in an ice cave under the mountain on which the monastery rests.

The group head back and find the Stone. When it is grabbed by Elocin, a spider-like creature appears and claims to be a guardian of the fragment and that he will guard her until it is put back. The group find that if the Onyx Heart is put back together, the prime material plane may be realigned in the multiverse.

The full prophecy as they now find out consists of fragments. Words of Damnation, Words of False Victory, Words of Futility, and Words of Redemption. The problem is that the group don't know what words are what, until they ask the spider creature, known as a Narlethe, if it knows the full prophecy. The Narlethe responds, the only other time it speaks.

I hear the call of many voices
Some noble, some cruel, some proud
They tell of countless paths
I know as I speak these words
That they will come to be misconstrued
And that when all is over
The end will be come

Hearken to the words of damnation
Beneath a frozen monastery rests the fragment of stone
Revealed it heralds the approach of the doom of man
Before the crown falls from the head of a hero
The whole must be remade into one
Only the eyes of the Child of Hell may find it
Only the hand of the Servant of Death may free it
Only the strength of the Untamed Soul may bear it
Only the blood of the Red Land's Son may heal it
Only the Breath of the Breathless may revive it
Slaughter the reward if the Black Lady wields it

Hearken to the words of redemption
I see a time of darkness to come
When that which was three and one are two
When suffering is restrained
When the Heart that was broken will beat once more
When he who is last of a sinister heritage
Will rise from his grave of sand
His life is the key to divine shackles
Under the vast waste
Where ruins ancient lie
Before the crown falls from the head of a hero
The whole must be remade into one

Hearken to the words of false triumph
For I see a time of great conflict
When infinite hatred infests a once noble lineage
When brother slays brother
And unstoppable armies march in the name of a once dead beast
Fourteen Lieutenants stand for him
Eleven heroes must stand against him
Ten moons to defeat him
Eight levels of horror to find him
Seven lands will fall to him
Four Gods beguiled by him
One traitor to defy him
Thus it must be
For an ancient scheme to fail

Hearken to the words of futility
For heroes brave shall undo what they have wrought
When pride becomes their God
I see treachery tear down ancient royalty
I see fire from sky
I see destroyers arise
I see the world isolated and alone
And then gone
For your time will finish
As mine now comes

No more words have I,
My time draws near and my eyes no longer see.
I am the first, but shall not be the last
For the son's hand shalt murder thy father,
And my life given in vain for the slayer

After returning to the war and trying as best they can, Impiltur is falling, as is the Great Dale, as unified Damara is now marching openly under the icon of Orcus and has opened a portal as well as allying with Vaasa. It is decided to try and finish off the prophecy. They first head to Anurach, but the last of the Death Giants holds the secrets of Netherese Magic and is almost divine in his power. Instead of facing him, the group flee.

They head to Tilverton, where they have found that the Onyx Heart is. On the way they gain assistance from Elminster who gives each of the adventurers an artifact of some power, and assistance from the Harpers.

The group ally with The Silver Dagger company to attack Tilverton, for it is believed that the Onyx Heart lies in the lair of a Dracolich. And, indeed it does. Tilverton is warped in a demiplane, cut off from reality, and is the haunt of thousands of restless spirits. Liv the cohort of Haderak White is slain by the Dracolich, but the rest of the group force it to yield, sparing it if it takes them to the Heart. It does so, and Haderak White who had been revealed to be of the Achilleon line, and thus the Red Land's Son spilt his blood to heal the heart.

The First reappears and addresses the characters, the Breathless who have also appeared, and a mass of darkness that can only be Orcus' spirit. He then vanishes. Orcus however has completed the Ritual of Divine Transferance and slain Ilmater, absorbing his divine essence and is now a True God.

The group head back to the War. Much of the landscape has been destroyed. They meet up with a Half-Dragon Hexblade and Exalted Rogue to help fight a major battle against a number of armies lead by 2 of Orcus' lieutenants. The battle is a stalemate, but considering the overwhelming odds on the side of darkness, it is a good result. The last of the 12 Paladins is slain, and the head of the Purple Dragon Knights of Cormyr take over command of the Alliance.

Meanwhile Elocin is called back home, where she helps her people against a strange force in the Misty Vale. The group close a portal where the scion of an ancient God of Time is held captive, but unfortunately too late. Back to the War for it is revealed that Orcus is once more on the march, though as he is a group of heroes have managed to banish him back to the abyss, though only 3 survive.

The group helps mop up the remnants of his forces and then they follow Orcus to Thanatos, for Gaunt has once more appeared and told them that the artifact blade that Haderak wields cannot truly be his until it is given to him by the rightful bearer. Haderak makes a deal with the Dustmen on Thanatos to gain their support if he will offer them a new land to occupy (Valls in Damara, as Haderak is the last of the royal bloodline). The group infiltrate Orcus' throneroom but are unable to defeat the Daemon-Prince/God. They retreat back to the Prime Material Plane.

A Balor follows them and assasinates Goreaxk the Half-Ogre Favoured Soul, but they beat him off and get him raised. They find out that the length of time they have been gone, Thay has declared war against Aglarond, as the Simbul is missing.... so is Elminster. Temples of Mystra are under assault. Crucia a Mystic Theurge of Kossuth, another war hero has received dreams of the war and encourages the group to head there and help Aglarond. This they do.

Andric, Warden of Aglarond is greatful to see the heroes. The war is out of control and Thay is rampaging, almost unstopable. The heroes help turn the tide to some extent, and defeat a lieutenant of Orucs who has sought refuge in the Yuir Wood. The Silver Dagger Company is also fighting on the front lines.

During one skirmish, earthquakes (which have been rocking the area), errupt, launching a multitude of millions of insects into the air. A Demilich appears above the battlefield and laughs maniacally, claiming that this is 1 of 5. The mass swarm is identified as a World Eater, THE RUIN SWARM. The characters and some Red Wizards riding dragons join forces to fight the devourer. Elocin has her soul captured by the Demi Lich, as does Dugan the Warlock. Goreaxk prays to Tempus for help and becomes an Avatar for a single round. He smashes the demilich into pieces whilst the spellcasters and dragons finally defeat the swarm. Andric offers the surviving Red Wizards a truce. They take that under advisement. Meanwhile, everyone is worried that this is only 1 of 5 supposed World Eaters.

Xavier, an acolyte of the Church of Kossuth seeks out Crucia and says that Kossuth has asked him to take her to the High Temple in Thay. the group get the blessing of Andric and leave. Xavier takes the characters through unknown mountain passes and they find the temple. There Crucia finds from the current High Priest, The Archon of Flame, that the Black Flame Zealots are not working in the church's interests, but are aligning themselves with the Red Wizards. However, Kossuth has dictated that Crucia is to fight the Archon by ritual combat for lead of the church. The other characters, including Essen'edi from the Silver Dagger Company who has come along to help, try to find out info about the Black Flames. Unfortunately, they find their inner sacntum and the Eldritch Theurge Dugan is slain by the head of that Order.

Crucia and the Archon engage in their ritualistic battle whilst assassins of the order attack her friends. Elocin is thrown into Lava but manages to get out before she dies. The Assassins are defeated and Crucia wins the challenge, becoming the new High Priestess. Szass Tam instructs Crucia that they will honour her position, but her friends are not welcome in Thay. The Black Flame order creates a schism in the church and leaves, Crucia excomunicates them anyway and then sets other things in motion before leaving.

The group travel back to Aglarond. Warden Andric is fighting for his political life whilst a truce has been resolved between the waring nations. Haderak returns from his quest to reclaim Damara and the group head to Sembia hoping to loot the ruined nation. There they find a ruined wasteland beset by gangland war for the scraps. However, it appears that someone has set herself up as the new Queen, and the group encounter Lia who claims to be the daughter of Elminster and the Simbul.

She encourages the group, all great heroes, to set themselves up as rulers of fallen nations to try and bring stability back to the region. They agree, though they still don't trust her fully. Yet, they head to Cormyr where they try to get the Regent to agree to the plan and to ally themselves with Damara and Haderak, for he has found that Idhrahil Blanewitch, one of the Blanewitch cult of Half-Dragon Mariliths has become the new Witch-Queen of Vaasa.

Now, with a new war about to start, Haderak Achilleon, Elocin, Crucia Daemonwrack and Goreaxk are heading into Vaasa to take out the Witch-Queen whilst armies mass on the borders to come in and wipe the scourge of the enemy from the land.

I have not gotten very far in my game, but I already have a definite story on
it.
The charaters are
Shlafein the Half Elf Rogue
Amaril the Elf Cleric
Thavior the Elf Sorcerer
and Erwin the Half Elf Ranger

The party starts at the Flying Keg. A tavern in a smallish town. (Yes mega cliche) There has been rumors circling about an incoming goblin attack, but people are unvilling to leave their homes what with Soyala (the country they live in) being divided in warring landlords and the country is one in name only.

Goblins manage to suprise the town with a mass attack (silence) and the citizens escape the town as fast as they can. Some still get trampled by the goblin hordes who start patrolling the city attacking anyone they see. Shlafein and Amaril run with the others and hide. Amaril closing the gate in the goblin's nose to delay them Shlafein hides in a tree and waits for tthe smoke to clear.

Meanwhile Thavior and Erwin hide in a ruin left by the catapults, but the goblins are organising patrols already though most of them are still securing the north side of town. A patrol of eight goblins spot them and Erwin flees for the gate, the goblins following them because they think there are more patrols who can mop up Thavior.

Thavior chooses to help Erwin and chooses to cast the goblins to sleep. Unfortunately, his spell fizzles. Erwin reaches the gate with goblins on his tail and climbs the stairs for the controls. The door to the gate controls is locked, but not very sturdy and he pounds it with an axe. It doesn't break and the goblins reach him going up the stairs in a line. Thavior follows, this time summoning help.

Erwin takes the goblin out with a swing of his axe, but Thavior's beetle does little damage to the goblin patrol. The goblins jump down the edge of the stairs hoping to get the sorcerer, one tripping and knocking himself out. The beetle is struck down and it vanishes in a poof. As Erwin kills another goblin they panic fleeing in all directions. Erwin destroys the door and opens the wood gate. Amaril gets in and stops the goblin's bleed. They question one of them and leave the others.

Shlafein decides to come down and accompany them to the caves where there is rumoured to be a secret passage out. They reach it dodging goblin patrols, but the goblins have reached the secret passage first. A fight ensues and they prevail.

The session ends here. I already have plot under that, but the players don't know what's going on. They know the area is dangerous and they need to scram.

The story is in a homebrew setting

In game time It's been a little more than an hour.
