This is my first post, so I apologise if it is in the wrong place...what I was wondering was if some clever, crafty, homebrewers could show me some of their own dungeon complexes. (be they bolthole, castle, dungeon, demiplane, keep, tower or perilious caverns!) I'm looking to seed my home campaign with interesting dungeons and locales for my players to explore and conquer (or more likely perish therin). It doesn't matter if the dungeon is a few rooms or if it is an epic undermountain-esque uber dungeon of doom. I appreciate any and all replies.

I once had a small dungeon of a couple rooms once. I'll find my map of it...

Shades of gray made it for me. You can request an avatar in the Arts and Crafts board (Request an avatar thread). Or you can pm someone for an avatar.

I found my map and will make a more presentable version and photocopy it. I'll probably do this later tonight or tomorrow morning.

The basic gist of the dungeon was that a Derro ran into somebody's house through a secret trapdoor. The homeowner asks the Adventurers to investigate the trapdoor and wat is under it. They find this dungeon:

Tell me if anything is unclear.

I have no real dungeons organized enough right now, but I can tell you how I normally do dungeons, since they are all generally the same:
Plot Hook
Generic Minion Fight
Trap
Single Monster Fight
Puzzle/Battle
Lots of Generic Minions/Mixed Minions/Other monsters
RPG Encounter/Mid-Boss
Treasure/Trap/Puzzle
Strategic Monster Defense
Encounter Trap
Treasure
Dragon (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheDragon)
BBEG/Very Large/Powerful Monster (LoZ Style)
RPG Encounter
Final Rewards/Treasure
Ubermook/Plot Device
Money-spending Time

I will post an example later.

Not being entirely certain what you're looking for, I will merely point you towards How to Host a Dungeon (http://planet-thirteen.com/Dungeon.aspx).

:smallsmile:Sounds good...I am really looking at coming up with places that are interesting for my players to explore and figured dungeons might be a good place to start.

I managed to upload the first dungeon I ever made. Here's the link (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97856). It's nothing too impressive, but it's a pretty good dungeoncrawl if the party likes undead things.

Well, here is a generic example dungeon, very simple (First Level):
Kobalds are bothering a town or stel something/kidnap someone, PCs go to stop them, by going to their HQ/dungeon.
# of Kobalds=to PCs attacks.
Thin corridor with 20ft deep pit trap.
Medium viper battle, sent by kobalds to stop PCs.
The is a cauldron and 3 levers, along with a magically sealed door.
Lever 1 (red) fills it with fire.
Lever 2 (blue) fills with water.
Lever 3 (brown) fills with dirt/stone.
1+2 empties cauldron.
1+3 makes magma.
2+3 makes mud.
Magma+1=nothing.
+2=shatters cauldron, and opens door.
+3=nothing.
Mud+1=dirt/stone.
+2=water.
+3=dirt/stone.
This is very simple and can be elaborated upon.
An appropriate monster is summoned from the cauldron each time a lever is pulled, and combat begins. No levers can be pulled during combat. The cauldron should not be reachable.
Fire: Ghoul.
Water: Darkmantle.
Earth: Krenshar.
Magma: Thoqqua
Mud: Crocodile.
Nothing: heals PCs.
Next room has a small army of [kobalds=# of PCs times 3], and wolfs to what fits the PCs.
Next is a kobald wizard who starts the battle as an RPG encounter verbally, until PCs attack, and continues to talk while fighting.
The wizard has a treasure chest, but it is trapped with a fireball spell.
Next up is a room with about 3 Tucker's Kobalds (http://www.tuckerskobolds.com/)
Then a dart swarm encounter trap.
A specific magic item for each PC behind a secret door during the trap.
A troglodyte druid the level of the party+1, with a wolf animal companion or something, turns out to be behind it all to summon a giant monster.
A huge monstrous centipede with 10 times the normal H.P. is released by the druid, just before losing.
The druid may change its mind, and help defeat the centipede, or some other plot/RPG thing.
The PCs loot all of what the kobalds have stolen.
On their way out, the PCs run into a flamebrother or average salamander (depending on PC level), that puts up a fight. the PCs gradually find out thet salamanders were behind all of this, and that the wrong monster was summoned (should have been a very powerful monster), and that the "ubermook' that the just defested (the salamander), is actually an organization of powerful monsters.
lastly, the PCs get to go bach to the city, and reap the rewards.
