I came across a reference to this setting / system on a blog, and it peaked my interest enough to search out the publisher and read various review.

I'm looking for first hand accounts of how the game plays and comments on how enjoyable it is.

much appreciated.

Huh. Interesting...
If I had the setting/system, I'd first make the Invaders, and then build Thor. Even though it says there's no spandex or pulp machismo.

You know, the first thing that popped into my head when I read this post was...

Not many people play this one, I think. It got a series of articles in Dragon magazine about... five to seven years back, I think. Or maybe it was Dungeon. I can't remember.

I think it sounds cool, but I've never played it either.

I played took part in short session at a con. It was an official adventure called "Glacier" or something like that. Simple but pretty fun.

"The Seargeant", who was a dead-eye shooter, got shot during the first combat turn. The System is quite lethal.

I played a German who defected to the Allies, because - well - he was a precog. There was also a medic tossing around lightning who also used her powers as a defibrillator. The rest I can't remember.

We were using the rules by Wild Talents, though. Wild Talents is a newer incarnation of the One Roll Engine used in Godlike.

Does Godlike lend it self to model combat? (ie. the standard D&D figurine fighting?)

I guess, you can use minitatures as you can with most games. The game does not rely on them.
