Does anyone have recommendations for good cheap web hosting services? In particular, does anyone have experience with or trusted testimony about x10hosting.com (http://x10hosting.com/)'s paid plans (found through the services link)? I have a free account there already and while it's had occasional downtime it is generally pretty good. When the site I'm building there is done and goes live, though, I expect to need more than 10 GB/month bandwidth and I'd like a little more reliability on uptime than I've gotten from the free plan.

If you have an alternative service to suggest, please make sure it supports php, mysql, and cron or an equivalent.

My only experience is with Dreamhost. They're great, so long as you stick with apache. Tomcat or other servlets are not supported and they will shut those down.

If I'm understanding you correctly, that sounds like it requires a bit more setup on my part than I want.

Anyone with other suggestions, or experience with x10hosting?

I've heard a lot of good things about godaddy.com. I have friends that use it, but I haven't.

Oh, quite the opposite. If you're just going to be ftp'ing over a site and you want that served, but don't care how, Dreamhost works great. DH also has a number of platforms available for one click installation. I have a couple Wordpress blogs and Drupal sites with them just because it's so easy to set up. DH is only problematic if you need a webserver that isn't apache. If you don't care what webserver you use, apache is a good default though.
