In Marranarch (http://corporation.walagata.com/fax/wiki/index.php/Marranarch), binders work differently. Instead of binding vestiges, they bind aspects of the gods themselves.
Due to this, binders in Marranarch cannot bind vestiges that are not within one step of their alignments.
Beltet, the Librarian
Greater God
Symbol: Open book
Alignment: Neutral
Portfolio: Knowledge, Maintenance, Invention, Merchants
Domains: Knowledge, Magic, Craft, Trade
http://corporation.walagata.com/fax/gaming/DnD/images/beltet.jpg
Vestige Level: 3
Binding DC: 21
Special Requirement: Yes
History: Beltet is the father of Helifax and Helios, the twin Gods of Time. He is relentless in his pursuit of knowledge and knows far more about the world and the planes than most other gods do, much less mortals. As such, his clerics tend to multiclass as diviners and enter the divine oracle prestige class since Beltet is all about aquiring knowledge.
Beltet is neutral because he frequently does actions that some would consider intrinsically evil for the purpose of discovering their cause and effects. Similarly, he does a lot of actions for the same reason that are intrinsically good.
Special Requirement: You must place a book within the bounds of Beltet's seal. The book is not used up in the summoning process, nor does it move from where you placed it, despite the manner of Beltet's appearance.
Manifestation: The book you placed within the seal opens, and an unseen hand flips through the pages. About halfway through, a kindly old man in half-moon glasses and wizard's robes fades into existance, picks up the book, and speaks in a quiet whisper.
Sign: You cannot speak louder than a whisper while bound to Beltet.
Influence: Beltet is eternally hungry for new knowledge and organization. You must either idenitfy or research (with Knowledge or Gather Information checks, as appropriate) any strange occcurence you witness. This includes most monsters and unique magical powers.
Granted Abilities
Jack-of-All-Trades: You are considered to have .5 ranks in all skills. This allows you to use trained-only skills as if you were trained.
Beltet's Knowledge: You gain a bonus on all Knowledge checks equal to your Effective Binder Level.
Cat's Curiosity: You gain a bonus on Gather Information checks equal to one-half your Effective Binder Level.
Gift of Tongues: You can speak, read, understand, and write all languages spoken by creatures within 30 feet of you.
Due to this, binders in Marranarch cannot bind vestiges that are not within one step of their alignments.
