[M&M2e] Keep your Godhand strong (need help)

Ok, long story short I need to make Gene from Godhand but I've played very little of the game so im not sure what all to do.

Same here. Any more details you can give us? Wikipedia is amazingly useless with regards to skills and abilities.

Thats the problem, i've played VERY little of the game. Maybe a minute or two at a friends house but thats it. What I've seen is mainly DBZesque melee combos. I'm basically trying to find someone whos played the game and hasd a basic understanding of the M&M system.
