Poor, poor ox. :smallfrown:

So cruelly shafted by that rat.

Opposed to the Flaming Ox of Doom, or the Undead Ox?

Can't believe it's already nearly the end of January... :O

More like the Earth Ox that is opposite the Year of the Water Ox (which was 1973-74) :smallwink:

Actually, people born in Fire years do tend to be a little more... doom-y than others.

And I like the rat. Cleverness is to be rewarded :smallwink:

Actually, somebody needs to explain how on earth the ox even managed to come in second... or indeed, how the rat came in first. You'd think the dragon would trump the competition.

Happy Chinese New Year to all!

Mythology does not work that way

If you added an exclamation point, Morbo would have said it. Same as windmills, right?

I think you forget the cat, who is not in the zodiac due to the rat.

That greatly depends on the telling of the Zodiac story. There are plenty of stories (like the one I was brought up on) that leaves the cat out completly.

To answer fully why the Ox(Cow) was second and Rat(Mouse), by one telling, was the rat(mouse) rode on the head of the Ox(Cow) who was in first, and right before he crossed the finish line, he leapt down and crossed first, while the Ox(Cow) came in right behind him. Again, that really varies depending on what story your told.
