what kind of stuff would u do to the barbarian class if you took out the ability to rage?

thats right, a rage-less barbarian.

a barbarian without rage if you will.

i've seen paladins without spell casting, this is a similar handicap in my mind.

everything else stays, just no rage.

also, see my other, more impotant post; a missing child! help find ty!

PHB2 replaces rage with Berserk Fury - similar mechanic, but it only takes effect at 1/2hp. Found that fun for playing heroic coward types (like Regdar from Gemmell's "Legend").

A completely non-frothing-and-screaming alternative might be to sub in the Ranger's Favoured Enemies class ability. Suits the whole wilderness warrior thing barbs have going on, but it does blur the classes somewhat. Scout-style Skirmish might fit too.

Sorry there's nothing I can do to help on the more serious matter, but you have my best wishes.

so ur suggesting instead of the rage(s) every few levels, i sub in some other feats?

are some 'worth' more than others?

Perhaps you should look at the Barbarian variants in Unearthed Arcana.

Or there is the Ultimate Barbarian (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=168661) from the WoTC boards.

No. It's an old sourcebook. It's also part of the SRD,

SRD (http://d20srd.org). SRD = System Reference Document. And before you ask, yes, it's perfectly legal. Everything in it has been released under the OGL (Open Gaming Liscence) by Wizards.
