Hello again, folk!

This time I'm needing help for my Gold Dragon character. I've searched the MM and Draconomicon about dragon skills and got pretty much of that, but one thing evades me.
In the sample dragons chapter in Draconomicon, a wyrmling gold dragon has 8 hd and +3 Str modifer, which would have given it max 11 ranks in Jump and +3 str= +14 Jump. But that dragon has +19 Jump. So do gold dragons have a racial bonus on jump checks, or did I miss something in the skill description?

I don't have PHB 3.5 so I can't check atm so any help would be apreciated.

Thanks in advance

If you can access this website it contains pretty much all the core stuff, and some non-core stuff including Psionis. I'll have a look for Gold Dragons. http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page

EDIT: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Gold_dragon doesn't appear to mention those bonuses.

Why would a dragon need to make jump checks?

You get a +4 bonus to Jump for every 10 ft. by which your base land speed exceeds 30 ft. So a gold dragon has a +12 bonus to Jump, plus Str, plus any skill ranks.

Lonestarnorth is correct - a Gold Dragon's Jump check is 4 (ranks) + 3 (Strength) + 12 (speed).

Also, according to the SRD (http://www.d20srd.org/) (an invaluable resource), "Disguise, Heal, and Swim are considered class skills for gold dragons (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/dragonTrue.htm#goldDragon)." I don't know if those are the ONLY class skills for them, though.

Why would a dragon need to make jump checks?

To start flying in combat

Thanks a lot, everybody! Once again, I am in your debt

That's because of this line in the True Dragons general information section:

Skills
All dragons have skill points equal to (6 + Int modifier, minimum 1) × (Hit Dice + 3). Most dragons purchase the following skills at the maximum ranks possible: Listen, Search, and Spot. The remaining skill points are generally spent on Concentration, Diplomacy, Escape Artist, Intimidate, Knowledge (any), Sense Motive, and Use Magic Device at a cost of 1 skill point per rank. All these skills are considered class skills for dragons. (Each dragon has other class skills as well, as noted in the variety descriptions.)

Interestingly, that would make it seem that Jump is not a class skill for Gold Dragons.
