It just came to me in a flash.
The story isn't true. The dragon didn't have an husband or son or such.
She spinned a sob story to get bonus roleplaying XP!!
Which she apparently spent on a few sorceror levels.

Funny, but there are two most likely theories:
1) The dragon is real and is going to kill V's children.
2) It's all a dream.
But I do like your theory, then again, that joke has been pulled before.
I wouldn't take any notice of what I sat though,you are entitled to your own opinion. :smallbiggrin:

Anyway, I understand it is difficult to see sarcasm on a post, so I want to make clear that it was just a joke.

Yup, Belkar span a sobstory when everyone else levelled and he didn't, then V asked whether he could use a story to pay for the exp costs on his scrolls, possibly including a tale of a drug-addled past.

Nope, I was just saying the joke had been done before in the comic, don't know whether they'll do it again. Then again, when has a dragon needed exp? Especially an ancient black dragon who would have at least 31HD and be able to cast spells as a 11th level sorcerer. More exp would be besides the point on something designed for groups of level 18 to 20 characters.
