The foulest stench is in the air,
the funk of forty-thousand years,
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
are closing in to seal your doom...
And though you fight to stay alive,
your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
the evil of the thriller.

[/table]

Class Skills: Diplomacy, Intimidate, Jump, Knowledge (religion), Listen, Perform (any), Spot, Survival

Proficiencies:Thrillers gain no proficiency with any weapon or armor.

Dead Truce (Ex): At 1st level, the thriller enters into a pact with death, protecting him from the aggressions of the undead. Undead with no Intelligence scores cannot attack or take hostile actions against the thriller, even if commanded to do so. If the thriller attacks any undead, the truce is broken for the remainder of that encounter, and they may attack as normal.

Bardic Legacy: A character's thriller levels stack with their bard levels for the purposes of bardic music per day and bardic spellcasting. They do not, however, learn new uses of bardic music.

Entrance Undead (Su): At 1st level, the thriller can attempt to rebuke or command undead as a cleric of level equal to their total levels in the thriller class plus their levels in bard. The thriller can use this ability once a day at 1st level, twice a day at 3rd level, and three times a day at 5th. This ability requires the bard’s musical instrument or voice in lieu of an unholy symbol.

Corpse Song (Ex): At 2nd level, a thriller can use their bardic music to affect undead, including mindless undead.

Danse Macabre (Su): At 3rd level, a thriller’s disjointed, zombie-like rhythms can fill the space around them with unholy power. This ability requires one of the thriller’s daily uses of bardic music, and acts as a desecrate spell which lasts as long as the thriller continues to dance, plus 3 rounds. Once the danse macabre begins, the thriller need only take a move action each round to sustain it.

Embrace of Undeath (Su): At 4th level, once per day a thriller can assume the guise of death as a free action, transforming themselves into a undead corpse. For 1 round/level, they gain a +2 bonus to Strength, damage reduction 5/bludgeoning, and a +4 circumstance bonus to Charisma-based checks towards undead. They can also continue to fight or take actions even if at 0 to –9 hit points. However, they suffer a –2 penalty to Dexterity, a –4 circumstance penalty to Charisma-based checks towards the living, and are vulnerable to turning/rebuking as an undead creature of their character level. (They cannot be destroyed or commanded with a successful turning check.) The embrace of undeath can be dismissed at will as a free action.

Thriller (Su): At 5th level, the thriller gains a new use of bardic music: the eponymous ability to inspire terror and panic in the living. All living creatures with an Intelligence score must make a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 (thriller level + bard level) + Cha modifier) or become panicked for 1 round per the thriller's level + their bard level. Those who succeed on their save are shaken for 1 round, and cannot be affected by this ability for the next 24 hours. Thriller is a necromantic, mind-affecting ability.

I couldn't help myself. ;D

Okay... I can’t think of an ability to give this freak of nature at 4th level. It would seem a bit much to grant 3 bardic music abilities IN A ROW... but what about passive class abilities? Help me out in figuring what else this weirdo class needs? *grin*

As it is, it's a bit weak... but just imagine a lich in snazzy red robes moonwalking a horde of zombies your way.

EDIT: Let's try this... after a bit of musing on Zombie-Jacko doing his thang with his zombie dancers. :D

Yes. ;D

Anyways. As for a fourth-level ability, I don't know... perhaps some form of undead ability? As per, you gain some of the weaknesses and strengths of an undead creature? Actually, they're pretty much all strengths, especially if you get to keep your Con score. I would have said something to strengthen undead near you, but Desecrate does that pretty well.

Seen the requiem feat in Liber Mortis? That would be a good requirement to add.
