A large creature that looks strangely like a scorpion lumbers up to you, it looks like a scorpion, but is roughly cow sized, has horns behind its head, has ears, and is colored in a black and white splotch pattern.

This odd creature was created by a wizard who, due to mages guild politics, was put in a lonely outpost in the desert. Craving the taste of beef once more, he sought the age old tactic of wizards, manipulating biology with magic. After years of testing, he created the Scorpiox, a cross between a scorpion and a cow, which gives a meat that is almost like beef. The creation was a great one, and so he sold breeding pair to the nomad tribes for information on their wells, and in such a manner became rich to the desert folk. Naturally, some of them escaped and started wild herds; the wild herds are extremely dangerous. One of their most interesting features is their sting, which accidentally ended up with residual magic ability. The Scorpiox looks like a cow sized scorpion with horns and cow coloring on its hide. Its exoleather is prized my many in its rarity and texture, and its milk is something that, while an aquired taste, is a great delicacy in some parts of the world.

Combat

A Scorpiox likes to position itself for full attacks, but does not sting unless the enemy poses a serious threat to it, due to its odd ability. The Scorpiox likes to charge with its gore if it gets a chance, but prefers full attacks when possible. If a Scorpiox is close to dying, it ussually uses its burrow to escape.

Staunch (ex) The Scorpiox has an odd Sting, a residual magic from the creation of the species. A Scorpiox’s sting, colloquially a “Stauncher” thought by scholars to be a combination of sting and launcher, due to its ability to launch magic attacks, is wrong. The locals named it the stauncher for its ability to stop bleeding and stabilize critically wounded people. When a Scorpiox hits with its sting or ranged staunch, it does 2 points of Dex damage (fort save DC 15 to resist) and heals the subject 1 point of damage, as per the cure minor wounds spell. This stops all bleeding damage, and stabilizes a dying character. Whe used as a ranged attack, it has a range of 60 ft.
