Scientists have found a fish with a transparent, fluid filled bubble around its tubular eyes.

It's hard to tell what I'm looking at, anatomically...But I found it pretty disgusting.

wow, reminds me of the time they found a single celled organism at the bottom of the ocean the size of a foot ball (soccer ball?)

From what I remember, it was the size of a grape. But still huge, nonetheless.

... I've seen mostly transparent fish before, but that's just amazing. I wonder what caused it to evlove like that?

At my middle school we had a fish tank that had fish with translucent bodies. I remember you could see their spine and stuff. But nothing this intense or awesome. Besides, I'm pretty sure the big evil bully fish wouldn't eat these guys like he did our fish. They're just too wierd.

wacky thing evolution is. I wonder what made it evolve into that!?

I wonder what other animals are waiting to be discovered in the 2nd Final Frontier.

Oohhh I wanna see! Or read. Or something.

Well, considering evolutionary benefits, given that the deep sea is extremely dark, the only source of non-biological source of light is directly above the fish at most times, so that's probably the only direction in which they make sense. Now, since a lot of stuff down there is also glows, rotating eyes are also pretty useful.

When I see that, I immediatly think of Pikmin.

Interesting, that really is.

seems i was wrong  i just remembered a line from the article saying something about how it left a trail as it moved, and i think that overexaggerated it in my own head :smalleek:

It looks like a submarine for tiny aquatic people.

That fish is awesome, I liek how it seems to have it's own little mag-lite in it's head. Is that where jelly comes from? :smalleek:

There's nothing in there. We should put stuff in there. What's the point of a transparent container with nothing in it.

I'd put gum balls in there. No wait... firecrackers! No... Fizz Whiz.

A pirates gold dabloooooooone!?!

I'm pretty sure this statement can be applied to anything.

I will not post a thread called 'Fish has a transparent bed!' ... I will not post a thread called 'Fish has a transparent bed!' ... I will not post a thread called 'Fish has a transparent bed!' ...
Anyways.
*hemhem* I wonder if those could survive in a fishtank. :D

And yeah, nature really stuns me sometimes.

I don't understand why everyone wants one of these fish.

I want their transparency! Who cares about the fish?

That is a very cool fish. It would be better if they'd gotten a shot of the eyes rotating, but still very squishy looking

Did anyone else have trouble at first making their eyes/brain realize this was a live photo/video, and not computer animated? I totally believe it, but I had to convince my eyes it wasn't fake.
Also, totally cool. Just cements my views on nature and the world. :smallwink:

Yeah, at first I wasn't sure if it was real or not...it didn't look real, definitely more like CG.
