I'm gonna vote Fey but please no sub-races. I know there are probably 73 billion or so Fey (mostly Elf) sub-races already, we need something that can compete with them without being remotely elf-like...

For future reference, just about NONE of the PC-usable fey creatures are elflike. Pixies/Grigs/Sylphs are all sprites, Jaebrins are just...no, just no. The closest you come to an elflike, PCs-might-get-to-use-it Fey are the LeShay.

I'm imagining many separate vines corded into limbs and torso like muscles, fern fronds as hair, and a thick bark-like mask (tribal style) for a face. Using items made from wicker formed from their own bodies and bone torn from their enemies.

That is defiantly a good combo, TREEE OGRRRE! But think about the Humanoid (Leafy/Vine matter) and Trickery combo . It gos around pretending to be a human(oid) but it can trans form itself into ground cover or creeping ivy to escape pursuit/sneak around/other. How cool would that be?

Okay, for my vote this round, I'll say Humanoid (Tree) and Physical Might.

I can imagine this thing...trees are incredibly strong, so imagine just how incredible an actual tree person (a SENTIENT being!) would be with that kind of power.

Forest dwellers. The kind of dwellings and settlements that vine-people would have in a forest seem interesting to me - probably very three-dimensional, particularly if the trees are good and tall.

As a DM I think that having a plant/humanoid thingy should be a monster strictly, to keep their uniqueness and mysteriousness privy only to them, so the players have to keep guessing. So obviously my vote is LA +2
