I note that here V asked the Oracle (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0331.html):
“How will I achieve complete and total ultimate arcane power?”
The Oracle, in response, said:
“By saying the right four words to the right being at the right time for all the wrong reasons.”
I wonder if that applies to the present situation?

There is a four page thread on this already. Just scroll down a little and you'll see it. "Four words coming, or the Giant playing with us?"
Please. PRETTY PLEASE. Threads like this usually get closed or moved because of redundancy, anyway.

I did do a glance down the forums, it is unfortunate that it upsets you, I suppose.

It's upsetting because there have been no less than two of these threads created every day for the last damn MONTH. It has become VERY, VERY OLD. Take something that annoys you, and then imagine having to deal with it every day. That's what thes "four words" threads are like to some of us.

If these kind of threads are that annoying, why don't we keep a sticky'd thread of the theories with the most endorsements from forum members? A catalogue of the best guesses of forum members, just as a quick reference for people are new or occasional posters or those who don't fancy trawling through pages and pages of threads to check- or just plain forgot about a theory due the number of them being tossed around. Could do it by nomination plus, say, 10-12 votes in favour of it's inclusion.
Anyone in favour?

Opposed. Way too hard to determine what the "best" guesses are, and it wouldn't actually stop the new threads anyway.

Well not so much 'best' as 'most popular' guesses and theories.
Just a thought.

Sorry if my reaction seemed extreme. It must be my Lawful tendencies crying out... I prefer it when things on the same topic stay packed neatly in one thread where they belong, rather than respawning in a myriad of tiny threads.

While a neat thought, I think it would be redundant. Whenever a "Four Words" thread shows up, all of the popular guesses (both humorous and serious ones) invariably get mentioned anyway. Therefore, rather than a new thread, the current active thread that the topic is being discussed in would serve just as well.
