KIHOU

the essence of the gentle way, a person who uses his opponents strengths against him, the Kihou is a passive fighter, one who doesn't rely on powerful strikes, but trips and throws. most Kihou adventure to find more about themselves, and their fighting style.

most Kihou come from the monk class, seeing how its combat style fits right into the style of the Kihou. some fighters and rogues become Kihou, but it is almost entirely unheard of.

Skills: Balance (Dex), Climb (Str), Concentration (con), Escape Artist (Dex), Hide (Dex), Jump (Str), Knowledge (religion) (Int), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), and Tumble (Dex).
Skill Points per Level: 4 + int modifier

Kihou/Monks: a monks Kihou levels stack for the purpose of the monks Unarmed Strike Damage, his AC bonus, and his Unarmored Speed Bonus abilities. A Kihou also adds his Wisdom modifier to AC [stacks with monk wisdom bonus]

Ryuuki: as a touch attack, the Kihou may send an opponent flying in any direction [except up]. The opponent is thrown up to half the Kihou’s class levels times ten. A Kihou may not use this ability on any creature more than two size categories higher than it. If the creature is one size higher, it halves the distance thrown [rounded down]. If it is 2 sizes higher it cuts the distance in fourth [rounded down]. So if a human Monk 7/Kihou 5 uses this ability against a minotaur [a large monster] he would throw it 10 feet [20 feet for half Kihou levels*10, half of that for the minotaur being one size larger]. If he used this ability on, say, a bebilith, it would only be thrown 5 feet. If a creature hits a solid object before being thrown the full distance, it takes 1d6 damage per ten feet not traveled. When a creature lands it is prone, and may get up as a move action.

Kakou: once per day, when the Kihou uses his Ryuuki ability, he may instead of throwing the target one half of his Kihou levels times ten, throw his target 2*Kihou levels*10, so if a monk 7/Kihou 2 uses this ability, he would throw his target 40 feet, rather than his normal ten. This ability is still modified by the targets size. the Kihou may use this ability one more time per day, at every other level past first, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th.

Improved Evasion: as the Monk ability.

Rakka-Hou: at fourth level you may make a trip attempt as a Swift action, and instead of your strength modifier, you may use your dexterity modifier on trip attempts.

Hayai-Hou: at fifth level when ever an opponent attacks and/or presents and attack of opportunity, and the Kihou has an attack of opportunity left for the round, he may use his Ryuuki or Kakou ability on that opponent.

Senken-Hou: at eighth level the kihou may add his or her wisdom modifier to trip attacks, his Ryuuki and Kakou abilities.

Shikou-Hou: at tenth level, the Kihou’s Ryuuki and Kakou are able to throw creatures of any size. They do not gain penalties on how far they can throw a creature anymore. Now, when a Kihou throws a creature using Kakou it goes [4*Class Level*10] feet. Creatures thrown with Ryuuki go [2*Class Level*10] feet.

is the throwing a specific direction? just sideways? or can the thrower determine the direction, any direction?

hmm... i would have to say it could be any direction. I'll add that in to the text.

does that include up? because if so, that could be a problem...
