Contracts are actually for people with things to enforce.
In this case, Vaarsuvius' side of the bargian. Vaarsuvius has no "recoiurse" now when the fiends decide to keep Vaarsuvius' soul or end the Splice early, no contract, no legally binding and enforcable contract anyway.
And all that talk about "playing it straight"? They said it three times, in different variation. When someone does that, they are lying. Vaarsuvius is screwed, and it was all Vaarsuivus' own fault.
