Cancer Engines are crustacean constructs used by mages and bards as guardians. The first Cancer Engines were created by the bard Harold Zoid, who took the secret of his skittering creations to his grave. However, he left behind a cache of scrolls containing the crabwalk spell, the key component of the creation process that prevented most wizards and sorcerers from creating the Cancer Engines. These scrolls circulated throughout the wizarding community upon being discovered, and thus some wizards were able to create their own engines. A Cancer Engine looks like a horse-sized crab of rust-red iron, with six spindly, thin legs.

Augmented Critical (Ex)
A Cancer Engine’s claw threatens a critical hit on a natural attack roll of 19-20, dealing double damage on a successful critical hit.

Skittering Charge (Ex)
When a Cancer Engine charges, it gains a +4 bonus on its attack roll, instead of a +2 bonus, and takes no penalty to armor class.

Evasive Skitter (Ex)
Whenever a Cancer Engine could make an attack of opportunity, it may instead choose to take a 5 ft. step as a swift action. If it does this, it may not make any other attacks of opportunity in that round.

Construction
The body of a Cancer Engine is made from a two and a half tons of iron, worth 500 gp. Assembling the body requires a DC 15 Craft (Armorsmithing or Weaponsmithing) check.

CL 5th. Craft Construct, cat’s grace, crabwalk*, dolorous blow*. Cost 5,000 gp + 360 xp. Price 9,000 gp.

Why D1? Why did you have to go and make a Futurama reference? Why?

MitP Vote: Yes.

Clearly because Futurama is amazing. Giant crabs are fun too.

In other news, D1 has started 38% of the non-stickied threads on the front page.

No, it's definantly because Futurama is frickin' awesome. I make most of my monsters while watching it.

Urm...I would be slightly disturbed by that last remark, but it makes far too much sense, as so many of your creatures look like something that would be in the sewers adter Bender's little 'trash disposal' episode.

I'm not sure it'll be legal for publication without a slight change, but we'll see... :)

I belive that Wizards made a crabwalk spell too, (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/fw/20040131a) so we have an option to avoid the futurama lawers when we move for publication.

Oh, and MitP Vote: Heck Yes
