Think I'll go for 504, if only for the 404 error.

Wait...

504 as well, especially in context of the most recent arc.

So wait, the polls closed before you had even posed this? Aw, man. And I was going to vote for #504 too.

I'm gonna go with 505 for the great character exposition. 501 & 502's narrative merely brought us up to speed with an info overload. 503 was more of an intro which was nice but mildy disturbing :smallwink:. While 504 had a good punchline, what wasn't said in the rest was more important than what was said. As we found out the details of such much later on. So, I'm sticking with 505 for the great way Elan & co. discuss everyone's true motivations, and delaying their defense against the trolls to do it no less .

505, for the great character interaction as well as the classic Elan punchline. :)

Surfing HalfOrc

I gotta go with 501, just because Thor and Loki's banter was classic!

Blargh! Sorry about that. Consider that March, not February. :smallsigh:

505 "I was supposed to mention that first, wasn't I?"

504 does get honorable mention

501. I love the following.

"She has flowers in her hair and bluebirds singing around her head. Who did you think she was, the bringer of perstilence?"

Ghastly Epigram

#505 for I.

I'll go with 504, as it explains why V is obsessed with having better magic.

Tough one here but I'll vote 505 as Elan is just hilarious there.

Niesra

So, 501-502 are narrative, even 503, but it gets a nice last panel.
505 is a great one because of the tension between the characters, beside the classic Elan jokes.
I vote for 504, though, because of the way it characterized V's obsession (it's rather ominous) and the 404 punch-line.

501 because of the south-east Asian countries.

I'm guna have to vote for 501, just for the two panels of Durkon and Thor.

"Luckily, Thor understands these things..."

505. I was laughing at Elan's stupidity the first time I read it. "I was suppose to mention that first wasn't I." lol.

Five hundred one. The Thor joke was Comedy Gold and it was very interesting seeing some other Asian-inspired (Southern) cultures.

I'm fond of the eyepatch gag, but I think I'll go with 504 for the text on the "404" screen. (Pronounced correctly!)

I thought 501 was pretty good, actually.

Either we're rusty with the Awards, or people like these three strips THAT much. Not one but TWO strips have received no votes whatsoever. (There might also be potential distraction with the epicness of 634 and 635, but I don't think the voting numbers are THAT depressed.)

(Incidentially, Nazzo, your image for #379 on the Results Compilation thread is broken...)

It's especially surprising because I had characterized #505 as the runt, and it may well be the victor. I thought #503, not #505, was likeliest to challenge #504 for the win because it was part of the launch of the Therkla subplot. I think we re-started the Awards just late enough to put #504 in its proper context (and in the heat of the moment we may actually be overrating it), and so I'm not as certain as Nazzo that hitting #600 right as we're in the 660s is really putting in enough distance. We finished the Fifth Hundred in the middle of the 580s.

In retrospect, #502 was a stronger strip than #503 for the eyepatch gag, but the humor crowd found the "Thor understands these things" gag, the 404 error, and Elan in 505 funnier.

I suspect the same crowd that liked 505 will like 506 as well; 507 furthers V's descent and has a funny repetition gag at the end that will also attract the 505 crowd; 508 also furthers V's descent and has a quick leveling gag; 509 ended or at least slowed a lot of the debates on Therkla's nature before they reached "Four Words" territory and has a gag similar to 506; and 510's main highlight is the "Epic Inside" bit. In my mind, 507 and 509 are the favorites, and if 509 finishes worse than third - especially if 506 is also in the bottom two - it will tell me the unthinkable: Therkla has zero or negative effect on voting. 508 and 510 are the runts to me, but I was wrong about the runt in this round!

505 -- Elan's bad puns, a rare (and soon to be forgotten) moment of team bonding, and marauding sea trolls for the win.

Okay, I'm recounting, because I thought I originally had 504 with one more than 501, and 505 with one more than 504. I'm working under the assumption that my post was the first to come after the bell, because by my count it was. In parentheses is the count with all votes.

501: 9
504: 11 (12)
505: 12 (13)

I think I glossed over SnowballMan's vote (by which I mean it is NOT included in the count above, and IS in Nazzo's) because it was mostly about the mistake over the closing time, and I misread it as being ONLY about that. I think Nazzo is counting the after-the-bell votes because there's one for 504 and one for 505 so they technically don't affect the outcome.

(So the only one I'm claiming a mistake for is myself, clear as mud?)
