What system (3.5/4e)?
What classes?
And so on.

We need more information. Races? Classes? Banned/Allowed books? Are these to be NPCs or PCs? And so on again.

That's really vague.
1. What races?
2. What classes?
3. What edition
4. What are the builds for?

This info would help.

Edit: Ninja'ed

3.5 edition.
I'm using it for a first level campaign coming up but I can deal if the builds are up to lvl. 5.
I really like the anthromorphic creatures from SS (squirels rock!) but thats just me. =) other then that, go wild

That's still really vague- what stat array/stat generation are you using, what races/classes allowed, any houserules, etc. Otherwise, you'll get a build like this:

Diviner 5
Conjurer 5
Transmuter 5
Cleric 5

Not very useful, as you can see.

Ok, that's a different question. My favorite low level build that I ever played was:
Fighter 2/Ranger 3.

Absurdly underpowered, but it was fun.

Off topic: I was browsing through SS and I noticed there is no squirell. I thought there was

Generic Druid. Or Warforged Bear-Totem Barbarian (17 HP on level 1 FTW + immunity to sleep & al.). Or a Dragonborn Mongrelfolk Dragonfire Adept. Basically, anything with lots of HP and the ability to one-shot people.

How is that absurdly underpowered? You're playing at level 5, not 15

I was a very new player. I did not optimize at all.

Fighter 5.

Seriously.

Go halfling, and optimise yourself for mounted combat. Most Dm's (that is, the ones I've played with) allow small-sized humanoids riding medium animals, read; Riding Dog, to stay mounted when inside caverns and such.

Using a lance, you'll be reasonaby useful in combat.

Just make sure to get Spirited Charge, and also get Quick Draw, for the situations where charging ain't possible, and the enemies are too close for your lance to hit them(less than 10 ft. away).

Might not be the best build out there, but it's loads of fun.

Fighter 2/Barbarian 3
Neanderthal.
Whirling Frenzy Variant.
Lion Spiritual Totem.
Sugliin.
Spiked Armour.

Lol the best and most fun build I played to lvl 5 was a figher2/Rogue3
The skill points are amazing (yea tumble), the bonus feats help alot (aka weapon finese and the like), Sneak attack damage, and evasion.

Personally if I had known at the time I would have gone ranger3/scout 2
and taken the Swift hunter feat to get skirmish of a 5lvl scout and F.E. of a 5lvl Ranger

I had a very fun ranger 2 / ape-totem barbarian 1 / druid 1. He couldn't decide whether to hate civilization or ignore it -- or whether to overcome his inner anger or channel it into sheer destructiveness. He did a lot of damage with a TWF shillelagh quarterstaff (who needs fancy weapons?) especially once the party wizard enlarge-personed him. The great thing was having a climb speed -- it opened up so many options for movement.

Point Blank Shot
Rapid Shot

throws daggers

up to 2d4 and 6d6 a round

Here is a build I had a lot of fun with.

Human
Rogue 1
Duskblade 4

Good starting skills to help out a bit then spell power for the win with a bit of extra damage from sneak attack.

If you keep going then just keep pushing up Duskblade to 19.

Another fun one was....

Human
Warmage 5

Take point blank shot and precise shot early especially if you can retrain them later. Then go for Searing spell from Sandstorm so you bypass fire resistance. The first 5 lvls of warmage are almost pure fun.

Except that you'll rarely ever hit anything :smallwink:
