Here is a stupid question but i can not find the answer. Does a +6/+1 bab (such as a 6th lvl Ranger) become a +7/+1 or a +7/+2 when another point of bab is added (such as taking 1 lvl in Fighter)?

+7/+2. Simple as that, they both have full BABs. If something gives you +1 BAB, then it applies to all of your attacks.

Because the 1st level of fighter gives you +1 to your BAB. Does that answer your question? If the question is why do they both go up, the answer is that ititerave(sp?) attacks are -5 for each additional attack, so when that attack bonus becomes more than 0, you get an extra attack, i.e, when your BAB becomes 6, you gain a new additional attack at +1, when your BAB becomes 11, you get three attacks: +11/+6/+1.

Am I making sense at all?

EDIT: Double ninja'ed! And my answer was not what you were asking for. My bad.

Thanks guys. I just wanted to double check that is all. Reason I was confused is for some dumb reason I thought it only went to the first attack because it wasn't written as +1/+1. LOL thanks guys

again the Q&A thread would be the right place for this, but yes they do stack. BaB and Base save bonuses from different classes always stack so your Ranger 6/ Fighter 1 would have a BaB +7/+2
