So.. I first want to thank you guys for reading my thread, especially if you can manage to read all of it.. Well, tonight (Sunday 22/3/09), I was playing a very weird session and I had a super-powerful divine allmigthy epic Spear within my grasp. Basically, in this session our party solved an amazingly difficult puzzle our DM had figured out (really it took us only 45 minutes and a lot of luck and thinking) and to reward us, he gave us an Epic Spear.

We were very tired after the puzzle (mentally of course) and though the Spear was in front of us, we managed to loose it. It was within the wood of a Hanging device or sth like that and we had to grate the wood to let it loose, as it wouldn't break. I was the only one in my party who was so interested in that Hanging thing and only one more of my party helped me with it.

Desperate as we were, we decided to call the guardians of our caravan (as we were travelling in a very dangerous world filled with devils and demons) who grated the wood and found that Allmighty Epic Spear inside which was a lot a lot harder than Magically Enhanced Adamantium. So, they took it because of the place's laws and we carried on to the nearest town.

As I have learned from citizens there, those specific guardians have given the Spear to a local encampment of their organisation, which happens to be the most powerful and wealthy in that world and maybe even stroger than Kings there. This is where our session ended.. We were at this town and now I want to find a damned Miraculous way to take it and leave..

I will give you some info about the world there and how things work and what sources I have, but I want to know if there is something so miraculous, but so totally within the rules, which can help me.

Info :

-If we get the Spear, whatever happens, it will become mine so I don't want any help as how to convince the rest of my party to take it.

-The Spear is crafted from a very very very hard material and it is magically enhanced too. It is a very ancient artifact and it is not cursed.

-Our DM is very experienced and it will be difficult to force him make a mistake, though not impossible. He knows many rules and he will accept anything as long as there is a Wizards signature confirming it.

-I have the ability to shapechange to 3 difficult appearances. Two of them are human, but very different and in one of them I have a price for my head in that plane. The other ones form is Hamatula (Barbed Devil from Monster Manual I)

-We have many people in my party, both PCs and NPCs and I have access to high-level spells.

-I, personally, am a Duskblade level 13. Don't know how can I help though...

-Teleportation magic is impossible in this plane, except for very small distances, about 40-45 feet.

-The organisation which has the weapon has permanent Antimagic Fields, True Seeing and all kinds of magics.

-I have very few days to take the Spear as it will be then transported to the Headquarters of that organisation which are secret, impossible to find and surely impossible to even take a step inside there..

-We have access to a plane where time passes very very very slowly. About 50 years in that plane will only count as 1 hour in this one. However Teleportation magic won't work, though there must be another way to go to another plane.. Right?

-We have examined carefully the Spear. Also, the leader of my party has a weapon which can change shape even to that Spear, but it is legendary and maybe more expensive and can be used against us, as well. Maybe if we find a way to take it back..

-Possibly there will be many Antimagic Fields between our party and the Spear.. MANY!

-We have a lot of members in our party. Also, currently we are escorting a very rich actress to a town, to be able to travel without being discovered. We are her loyal bodyguards, "Her Light" as she likes to call us.

-There is a way to create one Spear like that, as it radiates few magic auras (don't know how), but we have very few time.

-If we find something very smart, our DM may help us a bit to get it, because it was the loot of a very difficult quest.

I THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH IF YOU HAVE REACHED THIS POINT OF THE PAGE.

Because I was very sleepy when I was writing this, please if you have any questions or want to learn things about the situation and maybe even details, because surely there must be something I haver forgotten, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ME.

Hm. Well, you could create a fake spear with some Conjuration and then Nystul's Magic Aura it to look like the actual spear if you want to make the swap. Plane Shift and such will get you to another plane, but I'm not sure if your DM considers them Teleportation.

Would they even need the Aura if the spear is inside an AMF? I'd imagine the original wouldn't be giving off an aura if they've put in in one, so you wouldn't need to worry much about that. Though that's assuming they put it in an AMF.

What do you know of the defences around the spear?

Well, I don't know many things about the Spear and its defences, but I will tell you that the spirit which indicated us the Spear was a Knight which was wrongly accused of a crime which happened 200 years ago. Well, when I got the Spear in my hands (saying that I wanted to examine it for a while), the DM told me that I felt a cold chill down my spine and the hairs on my body were like I had put my finger in the socket. That happened only for a short while and when one of the two guardians who was something like a Giant and stronger than many devils and demons (so he must be really strong) touched it nothing of the above happened to him and even though his original weapon was 100 times the weight of the Spear, he seemed very tired when he hold it (even for 10 seconds or so..).

The only possible alignment difference between me and him is that he is surely Lawful and I am Chaotic so I thought the weapon was a Chaotic one or something like that. Surely it's an artifact and costs more than 100.000 gp. I have also thought that it radiates no magic auras because its power is Divine or it gains power from its wielder only during battles. I don't think there is something like that in a book, though it reminded to a member of my party a weapon from Dragonlance (in one of my DM's previous campaigns).

WARNING: Research on this subject must be hastened because we are playing again next Sunday (29-3-09)

EDIT: Any help would be appreciated. Even just a plan not involving any rules is welcome.
