My group is currently playing a gestalt game (Shackled City adventure path) and my character concept was changed awhile ago to cope with in party issues. He is now two levels of useless and a fledging Swordsage/Druid. The party is a Rogue//Bard, Sorceror//Bard, Dragon Shaman//Ranger or fighter, a divine bard (non-gestalt), and my guy a Beguiler2/Cleric1/Barbarian3//Duskblade2/Druid4. I had to change after level two to cover all the areas in the party that could be left open by others, and DMM cheese was supposed to help with the lack of healing power.

But the character sheet is a pain in the butt to keep and the DM doesnt care for the crazy combo. So i figure that when this character dies I can go ahead and make a more fun or more party friendly character...depending on my mood. What are some suggestions for character concepts or builds?

I have access to nearly any book, I don't have Sandstorm or Frostburn for sure. Otherwise I have an online database with a bunch of them.

Well, with three bards, your group has "face", skillmonkey and buffing covered, and the bards can probably cover off some basic healing among them.

How about a utility caster/batman? Psion/Wizard for the intelligence synergy? or Sorcerer/Warmage if you want to blast all day and still have your sorcerer spells to cover off party utilities like Haste, dimension door, and rope trick.

Check the retraining rules in the PHB2, see if your DM will let you switch out the levels you don't want to something more useful.

I'd probably go for something like an Archivist/ Wizard or an Archivist/ Psion. You can fill the Batman role in either case, and with Archivist you'll be able to heal and get rid of any negative effects. With Wizard I'd go for a specialist Conjurer with the Rapid Summoning (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/specialistWizardVariants.htm#conjurerVariants) variant from UA, and go into Malconvoker and Thaumaturgist. With Psion I'd make a Constructor, get Ectopic Form: Emerald Gyre and Boost Construct with the Personal Construct (http://wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20070411a) variant and maybe take three or five levels of Sangehirn (http://wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040625c).

@^I have already pointed out those rules and he doesn't want to mess with them; and isn't psionic notorious for bleeding our PP faster than an evoker build gets shot down on these boards?

Also blatant killing of the chatacter won't work. He is bound and determined not to let me make something that easily.

The bard parts are just for the knowledge on two of the characters, the rogue and the sorceress. The players are ages 14 and 13...both ditzy girls that love shopping and riches. I am the only person that can handle social interaction, with everyone below the age of 15 (excluding myself) and incapable of restraining random comments, I become the party face anywho.

But the divine bard has got all of the skills ranks...hes kind of a DMPC that my 5 year old brother plays. So I have to compose the message and have his character make the roll.

Pfft... why does everyone suggest double batmans.

Binder//Cleric

Trade your domains for Devotion feats in complete champion. If possible go into sovereign speaker (Faiths of Eberron) for more domains to trade in. (No need to go overboard, just snatch the good stuff like travel and water devotion. Take lots of other divine feats.

Then bind Tenebrous. Go wild with free turnings. Heal the party for free with that one divine feat which gives AoE fast healing 3, summon water elementals.

See if your DM will let you abuse the trick where you convert the turning into extra uses of Water Devotion beforehand (like during the time everyone else prepares spells in.)
