Before any one post about it, this thread is on this board because this thread will be specifically focused around boss battle music for role-playing games.

You are voting for the top 10 boss battle themes for an RPG in general.
Three types:
Intense: Usually fast and/or heavy. Example: King De De De's Theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3QRoUTAUco)
Epic: Generally sad, frightening, or awesome. Example: Battle of the Heroes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLhxF1v_5Z8)
Mix: A combination of the two, or both.Example: Gerudo Valley (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_bwHlDD9Nc)
Other: A tune that does not fit into any other category; often funky. Example: Deoxys Battle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w12R_PmXHEM)

Nominations must have a link with them, and the title as the link, as well as what category they are for. You may nominate up to 3 tunes for each category. A tune may be nominated for multiple categories, but it counts toward the three.

The nominations are collected together by category, a single tune may be nominated for multiple categories. Alphabetical order+links.

Nominations will stay open until April 2nd.
After nominations, people vote for each one in each category with 5 votes total to spend. Overall will be simply the tunes that get the most votes total.

The Whereabouts of Power (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqln3xQZDDA): From Hack GU, you listen to this as you fight Tarvos the Avenger. I personally think it's great. But then, for all their gameplay faults, .Hack games had some pretty bitchin' music, and it was actually really hard to pick just one. It's at the same time epic and slightly creepy, so Mix.

Solar Sect of Mystic Wisdom - Nuclear Fusion (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxrQIOoRiI0): From Touhou, Subterranean Animism. There are a lot of themes from these games that I like, some that I even like better (Native Faith or Border of Life come to mind) but for final boss, "ohgodI'mgoingtodie" epic, I think this is definitely appropiate. Intense or Epic.

Dancing Mad (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ios6zLDR8AI): I'm trying to keep out of FF, because I'm sure a lot of people will mention them, but Kefka's theme is just that awesome. Epic.

Intense is: Time of World Revolution (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POyePtj6GbQ), Chrono Trigger's penultimate boss music. When the Main Theme starts interweaving it really takes things up a notch.

Epic is: Awakening (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JBn6-ID7-E), the penultimate boss music from Xenogears. Not quite up-tempo enough to be Intense but the percussion is powerful and the strings and vocal only enhance that power.

A Mix is: Dragon God (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbEoTownSrA), yet another penultimate boss music from Chrono Cross. Some of the pacing is Intense but when the violin(?) comes in followed by chimes it gets Epic.

Bah ninja'd by Eldariel. In that case I'll nominate Last Battle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZ6ufAOSUhM) from Xenosaga Episode 1: Der Wille Zur Macht for the Other category, because I'm just not sure how to classify it but it's so unique it deserves mention.

BTW I like the idea of encorporating music in games, whenever I get to run my ToB gladiatorial campaign I'm strongly considering asking everyone to supply a theme song for their character since, oddly enough, actual gladiatorial matches in Classical Rome had musicians who played songs to fit the tone of battle.
