First of all, this isn't a reference to the movie.
Some of the folks I play Mutants and Masterminds got to talking about this a couple days ago. Simply put, your ideal "Dream Team"; what sort of characters would you want to have? It doesn't have to be for a JLA/Avengers-class world saving team; just a team of heroes. The only guidelines:
- No more than seven members
- At least two female characters
- No already-existing characters allowed; if you want to mention that "the character is similar to...", that's okay
- Archetypes are more than welcome; in fact, they're encouraged
- At least one non-powered individual
My ideal team:
- An energy wielder (ice), dressed in a black X-Men movie-style jumpsuit, who's a former government for whatever country he's from. Unusual Features: His hair color's dark blue. To him, superheroics are Serious Business. Very methodical and Spock-like.
- A gadgeteer with Mister Miracle-style gear, and low-level cybernetic-based powers (enhanced speed, reaction time and leaping, wall-crawling), who dresses like an extra from the 2015 scenes from Back to the Future Part II.
- A gunslinger (one of the females, and the token non-powered character). A checkered past that involves working with thieves' guilds, mob bosses, and the like; trying to redeem herself. A self-taught thief, gunfighter & martial artist. Very Iron Age-ish, dresses in a blend of civilian attire and Boba Fett-esque gear; utilizes both regular projectile weapons and energy blasters as needed.
- A street vigilante with low-level psionics. A badass longcoat character, he utilizes a combination of military training & techniques with archaic weapons (sort of Moon Knight meets Hawkman).
- The team's Human Barbie Doll primarily deals in the paranormal. Outfit is a skintight green & black number, without being Stripperiffic (similar in design to Ultimate Scarlet Witch), with Baseball Fury-style makeup to conceal her identity (it varies from issue to issue). Tall gal, blond hair, huge . . . tracts of land, basically has the same powers as Magik (sorcery & teleporting), minus the Soulsword.
- A kid hero, who's been training in martial arts and combat techniques practically since birth (sort of like Ryu from Street Fighter combined with Impulse's VR training). Genetic engineering has given him enhanced abilities similar to Captain America. Carries a high-tech looking staff with a few gadgets built into it (Batman-esque things; taser, grapple, smoke bombs, etc.), and throwing blades.
- A strong guy (since The Rules clearly dictate that every team needs at least one strong guy). He's about in the same strength and durability range as Ben Grimm. His costume primarily consists of civilian attire and a mask, since his face is badly disfigured. Power source is unknown; mask resembles a hybrid of luchadore and tribal death-mask.
