Need Advice

I am directing a school play but 2 of my cast members have not been showing up and the performance is 3 weeks away. Do I keep trying or look for other people to do it.

Get other people to do it and REALLY drive them hard to memorize their lines. The deserters obviously don't deserve the role if they dont wanna play it (maybe get a few set designers or w/e to do it?)

talk to the people not turning up - tell them unless they show up from now on, they will be replaced

Definitely replace them. Try to get some drama students not already in the cast to take their places; these students should be able to learn quickly and improv if necessary (which you'll probably need).

Also, don't cast the no-shows ever again. An actor is never late, sick or has personal problems - their behavior is unacceptable.
