I just thought I'd share this.

Good advice, in general. If you're an experienced DM, you probably know this stuff, but it's a good read for newbies.

P.S. If you don't know who Wil Wheaton is, he played Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generations. Also, he does a s**tload of voice work and writing.

And yes, he hates Wesley as much as you do.

I really like his reviews of ST:TNG episodes he was on on TV Squad.

Here is the link to all of his reviews http://www.tvsquad.com/bloggers/wil-wheaton/. They are quite funny and give some insight on what it was like for him growing up on the show as one of the most hated characters in TV History.

This synopsis of "Justice" cracks me up every time.

"Down on the planet, Wesley is jogging around with his new friends. Unlike the adults, who are busy getting their freak on in Plato's Retreat, the kids are busy showing off their gymnastic skills. One of the Edo boys walks on his hands! Oh! Wesley got served! But wait! Wesley serves back with some cartwheels and a roundoff, and IT'S ON!

In fact, it's so on, the girl (who was played by a really sweet girl named Judith Jones, who played my girlfriend on an after school special called My Dad Can't Be Crazy, Can He?) gets so hot for Wesley, she asks him if he'll "teach her" how to "play ball."

Oh, you bet, baby. Uncle Wesley will teach you how to play ball. Why don't you just slip into this latex bodysuit and put on this wig first, and then we'll play all sorts of ball, you dirty little bitch.

Uh. What just happened? Sorry about that."

I personally liked his post about the Last Outpost.

I made it a point to rewatch some of the early first season episodes and boy did they try to play up the Ferengi.

Also: Wil Wheaton was a guest PC in the latest PVP-Penny Arcade D&D Session (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4pod/20090218) - and he is hilarious!

If you haven't heard the first (non-Wheaton) one, it's over here. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4pod/20080530)

It's quite possible that he is now a cool guy because he was such a hated character, but regardless I agree with you.

He does seem to be a genuinely nice and funny guy. The sort of person you'd love to have at your D&D table.
