The Heartwarder is a prestige class that appears in the 3.5 Forgotten Realms supplement Faiths and Pantheons. It's a class dedicated to the FR Goddess of love and beauty, Sune. Sune's a personal favorite deity of mine, I have a thing for love, beauty and sex gods (also fond of Sharess and Hanali Celanin), so I took interest in the class. However, it seems a bit confused about what it wants to be, and is a lot less cohesive than the 2E Heartwarder cleric kit. So, I decided to remake it. I also created a new feat to accompany it, though it can be used by anyone with an above average Charisma. Anyway, here's my first draft of the class:

To qualify to become a Heartwarder, a character must fulfill the flowing criteria.
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Skills: Diplomacy 10 Ranks, Heal 4 Ranks, Perform (Dance or Song) 5 Ranks.
Feats: Radiant Beauty*, Spell Focus (Enchantment), Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Whip).
Spells: Ability to cast 3rd-level Arcane or Divine spells.
Language: Sylvan.
Patron: Sune.

*See below.

Class Skills:
The class skills of a Heartwarder (and the key ability for each skill) are Bluff (Cha), Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Handle Animal (Cha), Heal (Wis), Knowledge (Religion) (Int), Knowledge (Nature) (Int), Perform (Dance or Song) (Cha), Profession (Wis), Sense Motive (Cha), and Spellcraft (Int).

Skills Points per Level: 2 + Int modifier.

Class Features:
The following are class features of the Heartwarder prestige class:

Weapon and Armory Proficiency: A Heartwarder gains no weapon, armor or shield proficiencies.

Spells Per Day: At each Heartwarder level but 1st, 5th and 9th, a Heartwarder gains new spells per day (and spells known, if applicable) as if she had also gained a level in a spell casting class to which she belonged before gaining levels in Heartwarder. She does not, however, gain any other class abilities of the class. If she has levels in more than one spell casting class, a Heartwarder must decide which class to add each Heartwarder level for the purpose of determining spells per day and spells known.

Bardic Music: A Heartwarder adds her class level to her Bard level, if any, to determine what Bardic Music abilities she can use and how often she can use them. Her Heartwarder level also stacks with her Bard levels for determining the bonus granted by her inspire courage ability. If a Heartwarder has no levels in Bard, she gains the Bardic Music ability of a Bard of her Heartwarder level.
A Heartwarder also gains a number of new Bardic Music abilities as she advances in the class. Unlike most Bardic Music abilities, these capabilities harness the divine energy of Sune’s love; as a result she loses the use of these new Bardic Music abilities if she breaks her Fidelity to Beauty.

Peon to Love (Su): A Heartwarder with 10 or more ranks in Perform (Dance or Song) can put on a performance in honour of Sune, which improves the ability of the Heartwarder and all who can see or hear her to nurture love. The Heartwarder and anyone who can see or hear her within 60 feet gets a +1 morale bonus to any skill check made in the pursuit or nurturing of romance for a number of hours equal to half her Charisma modifier + 1, with a minimum of 1 hour. This bonus increases to +2 at 5th level, and a maximum of +3 at 10th level.

Charm Monster (Su): A Heartwarder of 3rd level or higher with 13 or more ranks in Perform (Dance or Song) can charm monster 9as the spell) to a creature she has already fascinated with her Bardic music (PHB, pg. 28) Using this ability does not break the Bard’s concentration on the fascinate effect, nor does it allow a second saving throw against the fascinate effect; using this ability counts as a daily use of her Bardic music. A Will saving throw (DC 10 + ½ Bard’s level + the character’s Cha modifier) negates the effect. This ability only affects a single creature (see mass charm monster below). Charm monster is an Enchantment (Charm), compulsion effect.

Mass Charm Monster (Su): This ability functions like charm monster, above, except that a Heartwarder of 10th or higher level with 20 ranks in Perform (Dance or Song) can charm simultaneously any number of creatures that she has already fascinated (PHB, pg. 28). This is an Enchantment (Charm), compulsion effect.

Fidelity to Beauty: A Heartwarder makes an oath to dedicate her life to Sune and the nurturing and spread of her dogma of beauty and love. A Heartwarder may not harm, mutilate, kill or destroy anything of beauty. This includes living beings (including plants) and inanimate objects, such as art or architecture. A Heartwarder may not kill or mar the beauty of any living creature; there are exceptions to this rule, however: she may freely kill but not purposefully mutilate Aberrations if threatened and she may subdue (or kill if necessary) any being who purposefully destroys or mars beauty or life. If capable, she must perform a beautiful act once a week, such as create art, nurture love or friendship, or plant flowers. She must also donate 1/5th of her monthly income to a beauty nurturing enterprise, such as an art gallery, or to a church of Sune.

Furthermore, she must nurture and keep her natural beauty. A Heartwarder who does not look after her body, or is physically mutilated or scarred in some way and doesn’t fix it somehow (such as through magic) loses the ability to use Heartwarder class abilities and advance as a Heartwarder until she somehow amends the problem.

A Heartwarder who accidentally is coerced (such as through threat of violence or a mind controlling spell) into breaking any of above dictums or is unable to fulfill them in some way (such as being unable to donate wealth due to being unable to reach civilization for a month) loses the ability to use her Heartwarder class abilities, and is unable to advance as a Heartwarder until she receives the benefits of an atonement spell. If her alignment changes from Chaotic Good, she loses Heartwarder class abilities and cannot advance as a Heartwarder until her alignment returns to Chaotic Good. If she willingly and purposefully breaks the rules of her Fidelity to Beauty, she permanently loses her class abilities and may never advance as a Heartwarder again.

Social Flair: Heartwarders are particularly adept at socializing, due to experience with social interaction, practice nurturing love and beauty, and knowledge of etiquette. At level 1, a Heartwarder receives Negotiator as a bonus feat if she does not have it already.

Charisma Increase: As a Heartwarder gains levels in this prestige class, she becomes increasingly more persuasive and beautiful by the blessing of Sune. At level 2 and every even Heartwarder level afterwards, she gains a +1 inherent bonus to her Charisma.

Weapon Focus (Whip): At 2nd level a Heartwarder’s competence with her deity’s favored weapon improves; she gains Weapon Focus (Whip) as a bonus feat if she does not have it already.

Heart of Passion (Ex): At 3rd level, a Heartwarder’s passion and personal magnitude becomes so strong that her ability to move, sway and interact with others increases. She gains a +2 bonus to all Charisma-based skill checks.

Lips of Rapture (Su): When a Heartwarder attains 4th level, a Heartwarder can choose to make her kiss confer a state of passion and bliss upon a willing recipient. Her kiss grants him or her a morale bonus on attacks, weapon damage, skill checks and saves equal to half the Heartwarder’s class level. The bonus to saves increases by +1 against enchantment spells and effects. It also temporarily stops the effects of exhaustion, fatigue, sickness, nausea and shaken effects. However, the kiss also inflicts the effect of a daze spell on the recipient as if cast by a Sorcerer with a caster level equal to the Heartwarder’s class level. She loses the benefits of this ability if she breaks her Fidelity to Beauty.

Mesmerizing Voice (Su): At 6th level, a Heartwarder gains the ability to speak and sing with a beautiful tone only attainable by the most devote of Sunites. The DC of all Enchantment spells with vocal components cast by the Heartwarder increases by +2, and the Heartwarder gains the benefit of the Spell Penetration feat, if she doesn’t already have it, when casting all such spells. She also gains a +2 bonus to all Performance (Song) checks. She loses the benefits of this ability if she breaks her Fidelity to Beauty.

Tears of the Evergold (Su): At 8th level, a Heartwarder can, as a full-round action, cry tears drawn from the sacred pool Sune shares with the Elven goddess of love, Hanali Celanil. Performing this costs 6 xp and may only be done once a day. If collected, the tears function as a potion of love and act as holy water for the Sunite faith. Furthermore, when a flask of the Evergold tears is used as a splash weapon, it functions exactly as a flask of Holy Water (PHB, pg. 128). She loses the benefits of this ability if she breaks her Fidelity to Beauty.

Flame Strike (Sp): At 9th level a Heartwarder may cast flame strike once per day as a Cleric with a caster level equal to her Heartwarder level.

Gift of Sune: Upon reaching 10th level, a Heartwarder feels a gentle kiss upon her lips and undergoes a fantastic transformation through the blessing of Sune herself. The Heartwarder’s type changes to fey if it was not fey already, and she gains all the traits of the fey subtype (MM, pg. 309), and when interacting with fey, she is treated as a fey.

Furthermore, she ceases showing the effects of aging, and appears to attain eternal youth. She also no longer takes penalties for aging and cannot be magically aged. However, age bonuses still accrue and she dies of old age as normal.

The Heartwarder also is no longer affected by any effect which causes Charisma damage, and any effect that causes Charisma drain cases Charisma damage instead. She also gains a +2 bonus on all saves to avoid Charisma draining abilities and effects.

Finally, any whip a Heartwarder wields counts as a +1 flaming whip, though the respective benefits are waived if the whip already has a +1 or higher bonus and/or the flaming or flaming burst special abilities. It also counts as Chaotic and Good for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction.

I like it. My only queries are why the focus on fire, and do you think the abilities are worth the hassle of the vow?

Sune is also known as Lady Firehair, and the Heartwarder Cleric kit outlined in Faiths and Avatars was capable of using flamestrike as well (I believe 1/day), so it was inspired from that. I kept the theme with the whip, as well. I might change it though, because Sune's stats list here having a shocking whip. :smallconfused:

If you think the Fidelity to Beauty could use a tone down, what would you suggest removing? It sort of has an Exalted Sacred Vow feel to it, I think, and that was one purpose. Sunites and Heartwarders are dedicated to the spread and nurturing of beauty, so I figured making it an oath would make sense. Any input as to how to could be changed is welcome.
