I have loved the 4e Character Builder that WotC has created. Is there anything of the sort for 3.5? I know that Wizards didn't make one, but I'm sure one or more intrepid programmer-gamers might have done so. Is there a nice (free) one that someone can point me to? Thanks!

Bam. (http://www.pathguy.com/cg35.htm)

Probably the best HTML character builder available.

And, oddly enough, wizards did release a rather strange 3.0 that some people might still have lying around. It kind of got forgotten about by wotc, though.

There's also PCGen, a great Java based character creator/manager, that is freeware. Great for core-only/SRD characters - my group uses it a LOT.

There's also Redblade, a 3.5 character builder. It's a bit buggy though and won't allow you to use any non-core books.

Try e-tools, it's got loads of plug-ins for the books outside core

Only problem being that eTools is no longer distributed. WotC allowed the license to lapse from CodeMonkeyPublishing shortly before 4e came out.

It also has a lot of 3PP sources included also, just none of the additional source books from WotC.

Plus in the stable release just released (5.16.0) we also have 95% support for the Pathfinder Beta system. Note: I say 95% because I'm sure that there are some corner cases that need work.

Also, Myth Weavers has pretty good online character sheets that propagate numbers appropriately once they're entered once anywhere.

Heroforge (http://www.nzcomputers.net/heroforge/default35.asp) is the best I've seen so far, covers prestige classes, LA races, feats, class variants, just about everything.

Downsides -
Needs Microsoft Excel to run, scripting/vb won't run on Open Office.
No spell sheets to speak of (get Spellforge instead)

Update, the link above had some bad files on it apparently, and shows up on some web filters. If this concerns you (understandably), don't worry - the problem has been fixed (http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Hero_Forge/message/12816)

(First post ever by the way)

I've always found this character sheet to be the best... I'm not sure on the name of it but a guy named Brian Wardman made it. The version i have is 06.08.05. and we have always just called it "Character Builder 3.5". I know there is another more recent version out there, but i can't find it ANYWHERE. I'd attach a picture or something here but i'm not sure how...
