The 2010 National Jamboree is the Boy Scouts of America's 100th anniversary, and is going to be the largest in years. It will also feature famous events from throughout boy scouting history (reenactments galore!) including a large recreation of the original Camp Treasure Island, which was enough to make me want to go into and unto itself.

I have just received the letter telling me that I am going to get to go from my council  , and I am still waiting on the patch.

Is anyone else planning on attending?

Argh. I would go, but it's far, far too expensive for me to attend, alas. And since I'm now an Assistant Scoutmaster rather than a Scout (yay for turning 18?), the experience probably would be kind of weird.

But it sounds so cool!

Ah for being the right age at the right time...

I'd have loved to be able to go, say about 3-4 years ago when I was a boy scout.

Gave me quite a turn to see the word Jamboree up here on GitP though. haha.

Now you've got me wondering how many scouts might be into OotS.

Quite a few scouts, I would imagine. We've a taste for adventure, after all!
