Alright, the basic idea is that a character should have the ability to gain greater power by attuning his life force in order to gain greater power. This would be greater for certain classes and lesser for others and would give them a pool of points they could spend to gain unusual abilities.

I need a point based system for buying the abilities in question (i don't want to use the one in the link as it's to clunky). I have a good number of abilities set already but need the point system to determine their cost and how early they can be attained easily

Well, we'll need to see these abilities to properly judge. Also, do you have any idea at what level you want certain abilities to be able to be purchased, and how many abilities you want a character to have? Those factors determine what we set the cost and number of points to be.

The weapon enhancements (like flaming, spell storing, or keen)
Something akin to lay on hands
Spell-like abilities
Manifest a weapon or suit of armor of their essence
And several others
