Just a question - which full casting progression PrC(s) can a Sorcerer enter at the lowest level? For the purpose of this exercise, assume that the Precocious Apprentice feat (and any others that allow casting of spells of a higher level than normally allowed) is not allowed.

Cheers - T

Probably after fifth level. Pretty much all full casting prestige classes I can think of require at least third level spells and/or 8+ ranks in a skill. The only exception I know of can't be entered by a sorcerer (Master Specialist). That said, I'm sure someone will prove me wrong.

I was under the impression that, Master Specialist aside, no PrC could be entered before 6th level.

Well, there are a couple of others (for example, Survivor can be entered at second level if I remember right), but I don't think any of them are caster classes.

Prereqs for Church Inquisitor:
Bab +3 , Will save +3, Zone of truth spell, spellcraft 4, Know (arcane anfd religion) 4

These skills all class skills at 4 ranks for Cleric.
Clerics gets BAB at lv 4 (3/th BAB after all)

So Prc aren't all after 6th. This one is RAW obtainable after lv 4 Cleric (meaning when you could be lv 5 with one level).

If there was someway for a Sorc to cast Zone of truth: you could have sorc as one.

Sorcerers have 1/2 BAB

IIRC, a sorc will get into PrCs a level slower than a wizard, as most set 3rd level spells as the entry level, which means 6 levels of sorc. (As sorcs max spell level is calculated by CL/2, where wizards is (CL+1)/2)

And most PrCs are designed to have their first level taken at 6th. Notable exceptions are Stoneblessed and other PrCs that act as racial blenders, allowing any race to qualify for racial PrCs, or Survivor. They use an Early In, Early Out method to allow PCs to get into racial PrCs without waiting till 8-9th level.

Granted though, there are PrCs that are designed to be entered later.

Sorry if this doesn't really answer your question. I really don't know any ways of fast tracking into a PrC early myself.

I think its more because of the skill ranks then any thing i meen there are a bunch he could get at level 6. Though i think that is the earlest full caster. Mainly due to the skill requirments.

I belive its 6 without any sort of cheese

I once saw a prestige class that could be taken at level 3. I believe it was in a book named something along the lines of "Ultimate Prestige Classes."

The only prerequisites were the ability to cast 1st-level divine spells, and 1st-level arcane spells. The PrC gave pretty big defects to the characters spell-casting abilities, though.

Even without Precocious Apprentice or similar, Anima Mage is available to a Wiz 3/Binder 1 or a Sorc 4/Binder 1, and it's full casting and full binding. You do lose a caster level on the one Binder level, but it's one of the very few cases where it's worth it.

Mage of the Arcane Order can be entered after 5 levels, but it costs an extra feat for a sorcerer (Arcane Preparation).

Ruathar can be entered after 6 levels for anyone, or after 5 levels for a wizard, cleric, or druid.

Racial paragon classes can be entered at any time, even as your first level, but they only give at most 2/3 casting (the first level is the one without).
