547 is the one that is awesome for me. You get the feeling that the slaves hold up will endure and break free.

Though some of the other comics had jokes I missed when I read it the first time. "We allowed girls in our club. It worked pretty well. With one exception." Miko.:smallamused:

I liked the joke at the end of 546 and 550 (Mr Stiffly always cracks me up), but the jokes cannot compare with 549. I am going with 549, even though I think that 550 may be more popular.

546. I can't say I am thrilled with any of them and am sure I'll be voting for the competition in the next round, but 546 seems to have an edge.

Do 1 in 5 always deserve an award? Perhaps statistically, but in this batch I don't see anything particularly great. 546 is my vote.

So many of these are solid. 550 is sweet and nice character development, 547's last panel is inspirational, and 549 has a great ... what do you call a punchline when it's solemn? But the best for me is 546, O'Chul's razor. A well-constructed choice where "which one's simpler" depends on the phrasing.

Plus, here's the lampshade you ordered. Just hang it anywhere.

They are all good. I really liked the Miko joke in 549 and Redcloak's exposition and Xykon puns in 548, but I go for 547. That's just epic.

mmm... not an easy choice.
i love the discussion between Redcloack and O-chul in 546
the puns in 549 are unforgettable (Tsukiko eats babies?)
the emotions in 550 are great (sweet dreams, monster-san)
But for me, the winner is 548. I love how Redcloack shows his own agenda: he's not only Xykon's lackey, he's a true villain with solid motivations and smart moves. And the evilness of Xykon cannot make me sleep... :smallbiggrin:

Also, I should now go run around in small circles til I feel sick. It will be my punishment for the criminal overuse of pronouns in the previous paragraph.

I'm lightheaded and considering quitting. I saw almost none of this coming. I'm tempted to say "TV tropes references mean no additional votes" but I find that hard to believe and it could be just the popularity of 550. I barely see 550's appeal, still wonder if 651 put people "in the mood" to vote for 550, and think it will have worse chances in the next round than 546 would have (although looking back 530, 532, and 538 are all on about the same level as 546). I don't really see any stopping 542 now in BotQ. I thought 549 and 550 could have been the runts and they place in the top two. I never really thought of 550 as anything like Roy's brother. And what about 548 not receiving a single vote not likely to be moved to another strip until the second page??? Plot-important information on Redcloak's plans? "Reanimated Gladiators"? I don't think anyone even mentioned the "nine sides" comment! What's going on here???

This probably isn't worth a copper piece, but 552 has value for Elan's accidential planning leading the orcs back to their grammar lessons, 553 has the return of Banjo, 554 might be a dark horse, and 555 has the reason for the orcs' Banjo worship, a subtle shot at religion, and "that imply very ugly backstory". Somewhat unfairly, 551 will be the runt for lack of content, but the turtle and Elan's line will still earn some votes, and the winner will probably come from 552, 553, or 555. There, hard for me to be horribly wrong now. Now watch, 554 will win and 551 will place second...
