Looking for a second opinion

Now, attacks of opportunity from movement happen as the opponent leaves the square. If someone leaves more than one square you threaten and you have combat reflexes can you keep making attacks of opportunity against them?

There's a 10 foot wide corridor. Orcy, the orc, decides to go past the fighter with the spiked chain (spike). He enters the square two squares away and one to the left of Spike. He then leaves that square and draws an attack of opportunity, comming to the square diagonally next to spike. He then attempts to move to spikes left (its an orc, he's none too bright) is there anything that would prevent another opportunity against the same opponent?

By definition, you only provoke due to movement once per turn per opponent. It's stated in the PHB.

To clarify, Orcy the orc is walking through a fighter's threatened area (wide because of spiked chain) that has Combat Reflexes (more attacks of opportunity per round). And you want something that reduces the number of attacks of opportunity the fighter gets against Orcy? To my knowledge, the only thing that would prevent any extra AoOs would be things that prevent them normally (like 5-ft steps, but that doesn't apply) or the fact that Combat Reflexes (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#combatReflexes) only gives a number of extra AoOs equal to the fighter's Dex mod.

EDIT: Those darn ninjas. :smalltongue:

No, I'm trying to verify that Orcy will get his face smashed in multiple times if he keeps walking.

In the SRD, here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/attacksOfOpportunity.htm#combatReflexes).

In the PHB, page 138.

In both cases, the important sentence is "Moving out of more than one square threatened by the same opponent in the same round doesn’t count as more than one opportunity for that opponent."

However, if Orky decides to do anything which provokes anywhere near the Fighter, he can eat additional AoO's.

For example, if Orky tried to pass him, he would provoke AoO. If he then tried to quaff a potion, he would provoke a second AoO.

The way for the Fighter to do this even worse is to get Improved Trip, because you can make trip attacks with a Spiked Chain. So Orky gets to 5', and provokes an AoO. Fighter takes the AoO to make a Trip attempt. When he is sucessful on the trip attempt (against an orc, it's pretty pathetically easy), he gets a FREE attack on the (now prone) orc. Who now has to stand up. Which provokes ANOTHER attack of opportunity, which he probably isn't going to survive.

THERE it is. Thanks. I had a feeling there was something stopping me from doing it, but couldn't recall what.
