OotS Special Mounts

Does a paladin's special mount in the OotS-verse require a special item (the pokeball) to summon? Perhaps that's one of the reasons we have not yet seen O-Chul summon a mount... his pokeball was taken along with his armor, his clothes, and his weapons.

Either that, or it's just a running gag created by the Giant, and O-Chul just doesn't have a special mount yet.

Well, you have to consider O-Chul's character levels. He's Fighter X/Paladin X, and his special mount, if he has gotten high level enough to have one, would be based on his paladin levels, not his total level. That makes it a good deal weaker than he is; and as it's an intelligent creature that can, apparently, die permanently just like creatures on the Material Plane can, O-Chul most likely doesn't usually team up with his mount in battle--there's just too much danger of it dying from an area effect or a casual glancing blow.

Of course, if he has less than five Paladin levels--he most certainly has at least three, but he may have no more than that--then the mount may not even be in the picture at all.
