i know that it doesn't really matter as of now, but from a technical standpoint, would O-Chul be the new emperor of AC?

Well, until Hinjo demands his job back.

Doesn't he have to, ya know, kick out Xykon and all the hobbos first?

Phht, a mere formality. A mere army of twenty thousand hobgoblins and a few inestimably powerful spellcasters should prove no problem to him. After all, he has an iron bar.
On a more serious note, the Saphire Guard seem to be partly made of nobles and partly commoners. Lien is as common as they come, and she is fairly high ranking. O-Chul seems to actually command the Guard, and the consensus seems to be he was a soldier who kept on getting promoted. Miko, on the other hand, despite being of noble birth, is shunted to the side by being given missions that take her away as much as possible. While no doubt a great honor, they don't exactly help her further her career. And Hinjo is as noble as they come.
All in all, O-Chul is probably the highest ranking guy around, but not the sort destined to rule.

IF all the nobles left with the fleet, the right now O'Chul is the legal highest ranking officer of the city (Not counting hostile takeovers.). So would become the leader of the rebel forces should they meet up.

He would lead the rebellion, and had they managed to oust Xykon somehow he would be Regent; it's a long step from there to Emperor however.

Would he be the Regent or more like a Steward in his duties and powers?

Noble Birth? I thought she was an orphan raised in a monastery?

Is there a meaningful difference?

The regent rules over the area in stead of the unable proper ruler, while the steward just takes care of the minor tasks of making things run, and doesn't really have power should the noble ch....I DONT KNOW THAT IS WHY I ASKED YOU! :smalltongue:

I guess Regent it is since it fits the Japanese motif thusfar in Azure City.

I just really don't know. Haven't had a kingdom in a while that was overthrown to have to bother with the lineage and who would be next in line kind of thing.
