I'm at the USO on base right now, using the cyber cafe to write this, and I bring you good news; I just completed basic combat training in the U.S. Army, after being restarted once for lackluster PT (physical training) and put on non-trainee status for a good month and a half after it was revealed to me that my leg been injured during my first cycle but continual stress on it only made it worse.... (:smallannoyed:)

So... If anyone remembers me... well, I'm back! And hopefully to stay; at the next stage of my training, things are a little more relaxed, so I should be able to buy a laptop or computer and come onto the playground every once in awhile.

(PS: If anyone's interested in joining [alot of people are, with the economy the way it is], hit me up. It's not a bad idea to go in with a little information about what kind of contract you want. I sure wish I asked around, first...)

Gratz Para! I'm aspiring to become a Marine myself and I know full well what I'm getting into... that's why I'm doing it :smallwink:.

But, what are you aimming to become once you're through Tier 1 Training, and such?

Huzzah!

Welcome to the fold, even if you had a tmeporary lapse of sanity and joined the Army instead of the Navy (I kid!)

Seriously, congratulatory cupcakes for you!

Yes, Congrats on finishing Army Basic Training! Perhaps someday we'll be on the same base...

Welcome back badger!

If i may ask, what is it that made you want to join the army?

The idea of joining the military scares me. Primarily because I can't stand the idea of actually being a soldier... I'm so glad the US doesn't have conscription anymore.

That being said, I have two relatives who are officers in the Air Force and know exactly why people would join the military. Congrats on completing basic training and I hope you enjoy your new job.

Yargh, I gotta get on that when I've got the chance.

Signals Intelligence Analyst, actually. Sounds fairly boring compared to say, blowing crap up specialist.

I'm on an Air Force base right now for my AIT training, actually.. The food's alot better. :smallwink:

My life needed some sort of crucible to get itself sorted out, something... life-changing, eh? Can't say I've found it yet, but hey, it's been quite an experience already.

Thanks, everybody! As an update, I'm thinking on waiting to buy a laptop or anything, so I might not be on that soon. The military computer lab here is for strictly proffessional and personal development, and I doubt I could rationalize Gitp as educational. :smalltongue:

Good luck and stay clear of the bullets and roadside bombs on deployment.

So... If anyone remembers me... well, I'm back!

Wait, I'm confused. . . who is this person, and why does everybody seem to care so much? :smallconfused: I'm joking. Really, you can put down the rotton fruit now!
