View Full Version : More Spell Slots

Are there any ways for a wizard getting more spell-slots, short of increased Int or levelling up? Perhaps a feat? The campaign I'm in uses RAW and all the Complete books.

Oh, and we're level 9. Thanks

There's a feat in Complete Arcane that give you one more spell slot. Extra Spell Slot or some such.

Have you considered scrolls, wands, and such? They're good enough for some spells.

Yeah, but they cost money :P I knew there was an epic feat for more spell slots, but I hadn't heard of this one. Thanks a bunch!

Edit: So far, the only Extra Spell feat that I've seen is for more known spells, not for extra spell slots. Could you give me the descriptive text?

Extra Slot, page 79.

"You gain one extra spell in your daily allotment, at any level up to one lower than the highest level of spell you can currently cast."

precocious apprentice, extra spell slot, specialize, focus specialize, i recommend making scrolls as well, not really a spell slot though

If you are an elf, there is a substitution level that gives you an extra slot. Only drawback is that you can't be a specialist.

Pearls of Power give you extra spell slots. 1st level ones are very cheap, especially if you craft them. Past about 3rd, though, they start to get pretty cost prohibative.

Rings of wizardry (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/rings.htm#wizardry) straight up grant you more regular, renewable spell slots to do whatever you want with. But if you just want to be able to cast the same spell more than once, pearls of power are way cheaper. A ring is only a better choice if you want to prep a bunch of different spells of that level.

Ring of Wizardry. They are not cheap but doubling the amount of spells you have for that level is nice. Level 1 Rings are 20,000 and level 2 rings are 40,000.

Another way to get additional spells is to take the Leadership feat. It won't give you more spells, but being able to load up someone else with all the buffs that the party needs rather than you means that you could load other spells; a level 9 Wizard only gets 5 third level spells and there are so many excellent third level spells that it can be annoying. Have your henchman load the buffs that are not heavily effected by CL like Haste or Fly while you hold the spells that are heavily affected like GMW or Save-or-Suck spells.

Best of luck
