It has also givin me plenty of laughs here in Iraq. I truly appreciate your work and can only hope you continue it for a long time to come. thank you again and i hope to get the books when i get back if not sooner.

Thought about starting one of these myself. Thank you for your service for this country and THANK YOU Rich for a great webcomic. Also, thank you to the loyal fans who write up great forum topics that make me think about aspects of this story in new and unique ways.

What makes you think he is not an iraqi civilian? (Nickname aside, anyone can choose whatever nickname they desire...) :smallwink::smalltongue:

(BTW, I'll thank Rich whenever it ends, if I live that long.)

The bit in his profile where he lists his occupation as being in the US Army?

I second all the motions in this thread!

Erm... yeah, I haven't noticed that. Which is odd, since I did skim his profile so that I don't appear to be an idiot.

Which I am :smallashamed:

Yeah, I'm going to have to get on this bandwagon too.

Thank you, Order of the Stick, for giving me a story to follow constantly for the last three years. No matter what I'm following, be it TV series, novel or videogame, I always have Order of the Stick to come back to. Everything else may end, but OoTS is always there. And I've been following it passionately since I discovered it at strip No. 323.
The characters, the plot and the game which it is based on (which I'll admit to have never played before) have become a scarily integral part of my day-to-day activities.
Thank you, Rich, for making such an amazing story.

I was just posting a thanks to Rob and Jamie for their wonderful job on ErfWorld when I realized that, though I've been a loyal fan for years, I've never properly thanked Rich for all joy I've received reading OOTS.

Thank you, Rich, for all your hard work and for the rich menagerie of characters, settings and ideas that make up the OOTS universe. I would especially like to thank you for giving us 'Start of Darkness', which is one of the most moving comic books I have ever read. I really appreciate the irony in how you take two-dimensional stick figures and imbue in them such multi-dimensional personalities and character depth.

Hats off to you, Mr. Burlew.

I'd also like to thank the Giant and all the Mods for giving us such an amazing forum and community to socialize on. Thanks!

I also would like to thank Rich Burlew, because OotS is an absolutely amazing story, and is the prime example of how even a comic can be deeper and more meaningful than an actual novel. It's particularly amazing because it never fails to be funny. Only a truly gifted writer can make a story both hilarious and dramatic, and pull it off as amazingly as he has. Thank you, Rich!

I would also like to thank everyone in the armed forces, because regardless of whether you even agree with what they're doing, it takes a hell of a lot of bravery to be able to do what those guys do on a regular basis. Thank you, soldiers!

And I would also like to thank almost everyone on these forums, plus the mods. I have never before found such an awesome community. One on which such a wide variety of topics can be discussed, from movies to games to books to comics to random banter, and yet almost everyone is completely polite and can discuss things in an intelligent fashion, with little to no real flaming anywhere. So . . . thank you, community!

I think I got everybody there . . .

First off, I'd like to thank the OP. Being in the army must suck, and you're giving a lot for us.

I'd also like to thank Rich as well. He's able to give the finger to the artwork-focused community and give a deep and entertaining story with such a simple and effective art style.

Here here and the army is not that bad. It is like any government job like; DMV or the post office or... never mind. But really we all walk the path we chose and luckily it brought us all here.
