Prep Rounds: [roll0]

Empty blackness, stars twinkle above and around. Hovering with no apparent regard for the lack of air is a lanky, red-eyed choker coated in black scales, decorated with magical trinkets and surrounded with a swirling aura of inky darkness.

Prep:[roll0]

1-2 is no prep, 3-4 is 1 round, 5 is 2, 6 is 3.

Mando Knight

...and this doesn't change my strategy too much at all.

Initiative:

Prep 1: Adaptive Style to reset my maneuvers list. You doing anything visible in prep? Description maybe? I do have True Seeing active.

Init: [roll0]

Mando Knight

Silent Overland Flight using the Greater Silent Metamagic Rod.

Roger - I'm assuming your description is the same as it was in the battle vs. Draken then.

...And it's just occured to me that I am screwed. I can't move in space except by teleporting, since nonmagical flight doesn't function and according to the SRD,

Individuals on a plane with this trait merely float in space, unless other resources are available to provide a direction for gravity’s pull.

Thus, Child of Shadow is impossible to trigger, and I'm in direct sunlight so Shadow Blend will never kick in.

Ah well. Swift action to Shadow Blink 50ft. towards you. Move action to Shadow Stride 50ft. towards you. Full-Round action for Adaptive Style. Your turn, I'm 20ft. away.

Silent Waves of Exhaustion (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/wavesOfExhaustion.htm), then fly 20 ft. up.

In case you have Spell Resistance... [roll0]

The Glyphstone
2009-05-24, 02:19 PM
I'm exhausted.

Swift: Shadow Blink adjacent to you. This puts you within my reach, and you are now subject to Mage Slayer.

Execute Ancient Mountain Hammer, rolling [roll0] for [roll1]
Execute Elder Mountain Hammer, rolling [roll2] for [roll3]

The Glyphstone
2009-05-24, 02:21 PM
Since my Gauntlet is sporting a Greater Truedeath crystal, that means the Elder Mountain Hammer threatened a critical, unless you're also sporting Fortification armor.

[roll0]

Maneuver bonus dice will not be multiplied, nor does my Magebane bonus dice, so I deal another [roll1].

All damage does bypass Dr and hardness regardless.

Mando Knight

Shift to Hybrid form.

The Glyphstone
2009-05-24, 02:35 PM
All attacks hit then, and critical confirmed?

Shadow Stride 10ft. directly backwards (you're still threatened by Mage Slayer), then Adaptive Style to recover maneuvers.

Shadow Stride 10ft. directly backwards (you're still threatened by Mage Slayer), then Adaptive Style to recover maneuvers.

Second attack only. Critical confirmed.

5-ft step backwards, Silent Cold Acid Fog on your position. [roll0] damage, no save, no SR.

The Glyphstone
2009-05-24, 02:46 PM
I actually have a 15ft. reach, so 5ft. stepping means you will still provoke with your spell. Want to alter the action?

Mage Slayer means I provoke regardless of Defensive Casting, correct?

The Glyphstone
2009-05-24, 02:50 PM
that's correct.

Mando Knight
2009-05-24, 02:52 PM
...Bring it on.

The Glyphstone
2009-05-24, 02:53 PM
[roll0] for a potential [roll1]
My attacks are Bludgeoning and Magic, so they'll bypass a Lich's normal DR. It's not silver though, so your Lycanthrope DR kicks in.

Mando Knight

Missed me!

The Glyphstone
2009-05-24, 02:57 PM
53 misses? you've somehow gotten your AC that high without any precast buffs, interesting.

Since the spell succeeds, I'll trigger my Ring of Spell-Battle to redirect its target to a point 50ft. below us, and completely irrelevant.

..Wait...how did my 52 to confirm a critical succeed, but my 53 to hit normally miss?

Never mind, hybrid NA.

Mando Knight
2009-05-24, 03:01 PM
Well... I'm out of uses of my Silent Rod for now...

...So it's time for the flying melee mage.

The Glyphstone
2009-05-24, 03:06 PM
Alright, my turn then.

Standard: Execute Iron Heart Surge to wipe away the Exhausted condition.
Standard: Execute Rabid Bear Strike, rolling [roll0] for a potential [roll1].

Was that supposed to be a Swift and a Standard, or do you have an enchantment that grants Celerity?

Anyway, withdraw 40 feet.

The Glyphstone

I'm a Choker, remember?. Quickness gives me a free additional standard or move action each round. Incredibly useful with ToB maneuvers.

Did the Rabid Bear Strike hit?

Regardless, a Swift action to Shadow Blink forward 45ft., then another Double Hammer Combo.

Ancient: 1d20+42 for 16d6+34, again bypassing all DR.
Elder: 1d20+42 for 10d6+34, bypassing all DR.

Ending 10ft. away from you.

Freaking forum roller, this is why I use Invisiblecastle.

Ancient Mountain Hammer:[roll0], [roll1]
Elder Mountain Hammer:[roll2], [roll3]

Mando Knight
2009-05-24, 03:53 PM
And the second one hits for the kill. If I hadn't have been robbed of my Verbal spells, it may have been different.

The Glyphstone
2009-05-24, 03:55 PM
And to confirm crit....

[roll0], potential bonus [roll1]

I'm confused, did you not prep any Dispel Magics? Nullifying my Necklace would have been an instant kill, since you can't hold your breath in space.

On a side note, have I won my first official match, or do you still need approval?

I should have, but I've been neglecting to. The only Don't Save, Die spell I could've prepared for the match, and I miss it. :smallsigh:

After seeing all the dispels you threw at Draken, I was sure i was a goner. Got very confused when that wasn't your opener, especially considering the arena type had deprived me of all my defensive abilities.

He was throwing them at me using a bunch of summoned devils. Come to think of it, that's not that bad of an idea...
