Hey,

Remember that in the first pages, Durkon's heavy armor was clanking all the time? (example can be found here (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0025.html))

What happened to those clanks...?

It was just a running gag back then.

He bought those hornets and had them puncture the audience's eardrums.

Or hadn't you noticed that you have to read the speech bubbles instead of hearing the characters speak?

They've mentioned it a few times, but it's become a less-used running gag. Durkon probably found some quiter armor off-panel.

The clanks are probably still around. He did try to find alternatives here (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0138.html), but the results ranged from dangerous to outright cruel.

They stopped being funny.

They also haven't had to sneak up on any enemies since then. Every enemy they've faced since either knew they were coming or were a giant army of hobgoblins.

And the orcs probably spotted them for that reason on the island.

The clanks will only happen when Durkon needs to roll a move silently check. Otherwise, he doesn't make any extra noise.

SO he should just not roll Move Silently Checks ever.:smallamused:

I've had that exact same problem in a Dark Heresy campaign. Nobody had stealth so if we announced we wanted to sneak around the DM made us test half agility. Of course, at least one of us would fail badly so he had to react as though someone had made a loud noise.

When exactly would his noisy armor have been an issue? When he conjured up a thunderstorm in Cliffport? In the middle of the Azure City siege? While battling a 4 story Pit Fiend?

I think he still clanks. However, since it's not relevant, the artist chooses to leave it only implied, not stated outright.
