Just my "I'm around post". Gonna check my opponent sheet, see if I need something before we begin and obvisouly choose my spells for the round.

EDIT: Ok I see 3 feats, no fighter levels and only a flaw so either I'm missing something or my opponent has one feat too many or one flaw too little.
Also he is wearing medium armor and is not a dwarf so his speed should be 20 no?. Quick trait. Right.

And out of curiosity what bonus from the goliath race is he getting at ECL1? I supose he only gets powerfull build at lvl2 as I don't see it anywhere. What else? Thanks.

First of all, Arena Goliaths are with all the other +1 LA races in character creation rules. http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5942255&postcount=1

Secondly, I'm stumped on the feat, unless it's a class feature (free ewp?).

I'm not going to stop the match at this point. If he doesn't show, it's a moot point anyway. But, this will have to be resolved before you begin.

I know you used to have to ask... that's why we put them there :P We got tired of trying to remember what there were when people asked.

I think both his feats were supposed to be for flaws... but it look like he just didn't take one .

Requested LoS Clarification

@Refs

Listen checks are important in places where LoS may not be easily established, double so when one combatant asks for a listen check. Unfortunately, they're also much more painful to perform. :smallannoyed:

Ok,

Rangore has a Move Silently modifier of -4.
He isn't attempting to move silently, so lets say he rolled a 5. (Some refs say a 1 was rolled when no stealth attempts are made, but we'll use 5 for consistency in this match)

At double movement that's -5 penalty, They are 45 ft apart, for +4 distance.
That's a DC 0 to hear Rangore.
Armil rolled a 15 to beat the check by 10.
"You hear approaching footsteps to the North East roughly 40 ft distant"


Aramil isn't that quiet eather, he spoke to cast a spell (DC 0) and also hustled for DC 5 + 3 -5 = DC 3.
However, at the start of his turn Rangore is over 110 feet away for +11 distance.

Yeah I know. But at first Psionic Dog only had a spoiler for refs and nothing for me so.... I was confused. Fixed one. Got a rules question but I'm gonna ask about it in the main thread.

Ok so here we go. Gonna try to Color Spay him even without knowing where he is exactly. He's probably in O13 or 14 so gonna try to get those 2 squares at least.

Move like this:
Start in S8 then to R9 Q10 P11 P12.
If I see him along this path I stop instead of continuing. If not I go till P12. If I see him, I'll decide what to do then. If I still don't see him there I cast color spray in a way that it occupies the following squares:

O13, O14, O15, N13, N14 and M13. If he is somewhere in there he must will save against a DC of 17.

Anyway, spot checks in case I need them along the way.

Ok man piece of advice here. You see that ability Abrupt jaunt in my sheet? You know what that does? It allows me to teleport 10ft as an immediate action. That means I can teleport away from your attacks. Now as you see I can use it 5 times a day. But if I can see your rolls and know you don't hit me, then I don't need to actually use it.

So you should either roll in spoilers or say "I charge you. My path is this. Do you teleport away?"

Also, you can't move and then charge. You have to charge right away. But currently you don't have enough space between us to charge (10ft minimum). So I assume your action is actually a move and attack.

Gonna call for a ref just to make sure. Either way you're getting color sprayed again. If you save again I'm probably screwed :P

Anyway I was waiting for a ref to come and tell us how to proced. I did say I was going to cast color spray but not how would I do it. If I just casted it without moving first I would provoke an aoo and that would be BAD.

While the refs don't check.... I think me winning this round, if that second save is allowed, is pretty much out of the picture. I have one spell that deals damage. But even if it crits and roll max damage on both it's not enough to kill you. And with -7 to hit with that scythe I'm not going anywhere near you. I only used it for coup de graces, which obviously are not happening anytime soon.


So this could de-rail into a very very boring catch me if you can match.

Damn should have bought a bow or crossbow or whatever.

Well if the roll stands I'm gonna take a few shots at you with the scythe anyway. I can still avoid a few attacks from you with the Jaunt trick, so I might as well pray for some 20's myself! :smallbiggrin:

My first inicial problem was that Trodon13 delcared an illegal charge. I assume that it would be changed to a normal move and attack, but with my past experience in the area I've learned not to assume anything. No offense.

Secondly I told my opponent I was going to Color Spray him, but as I was waiting for your call on the charge thing I didn't actually do so. Yet. But he rolled the save anyway. So not sure if that matters or not.

Ah, I see.

Correct the charge was invalid. This means Rangor would have to revise his action for that turn, prompting a match rewind to that point.

However, Arkol also listed an alternative action/assumption which Trodon13 appears to have passively accepted. I think.

When errors have been made the arena allows play to continue if both combatants agree to accept the error instance or agree to a legal retroactive alternative.

Do both combatants agree to abide by the change from charging to move attacking with the listed roll?

If yes, play continues as normal Aramil's turn, Round 3 that includes the agreed upon color spray and save as well as whatever movement Aramil deems need to complete that action.

If we have a 'nay' then play rewinds to the beginning of Rangor's turn, Round 2 with fresh rolls for all following attacks/saves/etc.

Then, as the actions proceed, it is the ref opinion that the spell and save stand. Aramil committed to casting the spell and Ragnor preemptively rolled a save to save time as a failure would likely (but not certainly) spelled him doom. It matters not.

It is now Aramil's turn, round 3.
He may have committed to casting the spell as part of the turn, but all other actions such as movement still need to be declared.

Well... I could teleport into the midle of the mist and basically play cat and mouse but that would be tedious and boring.

This time I teleport nack and move to P14 and attack. That means I'm out of teleports but now have 20% miss chance. Don't forget to roll that.
