If you want to, can you choose to fight flatfooted? Basically for =<9 dex characters. Obviously +1 ac isn't worth it againist rogues.

You only lose your Dexterity bonus if you have one.

I guess you could you wanted to but it wouldn't give any sort of advantage. (Kaiyanwang, if you need Reiki for your nausea, PM me and I'll see what I can do.)

Flat-Footed

A character who has not yet acted during a combat is flat-footed, not yet reacting normally to the situation. A flat-footed character loses his Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) and cannot make attacks of opportunity.

I don't think you can. Its not really one of those things that you seem to have control over. Although you might be able to make a flaw that leaves you flat-footed constantly.

When fighting flatfooted, you lose your dexterity bonus. If you have a penalty, it stays.

If it says "bonus", it means "bonus", not "modifier". If it says "modifier", it means "bonus" AND/OR "penalty".

So no, you can't do this.

Unearthed Arcana has a "variant" to ignore an opponent making you treated as flat-footed towards that opponent, but allowing you to avoid being flanked by that one.
