The disintegrated young adult black dragon

So we know that when it came to the "evil" politician, V used Disintegrate and Gust of Wind.

But rechecking the old young adult black dragon, all it showed was a pair of Disintegrates, leaving a pile of dust. It wasn't blown away, and it was inside (presumably protected from drafts).

So what happened that the mother found no traces at all? Nothing to bring back?

(I know, it took weeks to load up the wagons. Anything could have happened off screen. Never mind.)

I thought V mentioned something about disposing of the ashes in the swamp. I'll go check.

The pile of ashes was about ankle deep in water, so it could have been absorbed or mixed in. Momma Black Dragon said herslef they were absorbed into the swamp whhen she tells V she found nothing.

The dragon's mother specifically mentions that the ashes had sunk into the swamp, so why is this even being asked?
